Nairobi County government has introduced a dress code for its employees working at City Hall in Nairobi, effective from Monday to Thursday.
According to a statement by Nairobi county secretary and head of public service Leboo ole Morintat, all City Hall staff are expected to adhere to the dress code, which requires public officers to be well-groomed and decently dressed.
Under the new directive, men are expected to wear a full or broken suit with a tie, while women can opt for a full or broken suit or a dress.
However, workers are allowed to dress down on Fridays, with an option of wearing a suit and a tie or smart casual, including county-branded shirts.
Published on October 3, 2019, the directive aims to maintain integrity and adhere to the code of conduct as outlined in the public service regulation.
Mr. Morintat emphasized that failure to comply with the directive will attract disciplinary action according to laid-down regulations.
