On June 29, 2020, Cebbie Koks, Akothee's sister, took to Instagram to defend her friend Jalang'o against accusations of exploiting Kenyans.
Jalang'o had announced plans to launch Jalang'o TV and was seeking graphic designers to create a logo, offering a Ksh 10,000 reward for the best design.
However, some critics accused Jalang'o of exploiting his fans by not paying a decent amount for the logo design.
Cebbie responded by saying that she saw the opportunity as a chance for Kenyans to showcase their talents and skills, and that it was a 'win-win' situation for both Jalang'o and the designers.
She encouraged Kenyans to be opportunistic and take advantage of such opportunities, saying 'Always be an opportunist. Those are the people that grow...'
However, Cebbie later pulled down the post, which had started to gain traction, but the reason for this remains unknown.
