On October 2, 2019, Chelsea's Tammy Abraham marked his 22nd birthday with a goal in the UEFA Champions League match against Lille at the Pierre Mauroy stadium in Lille, France.

Abraham scored his first Champions League goal in the 22nd minute, turning to fire home Fikayo Tomori's pass and putting Frank Lampard's side ahead.

Chelsea secured their first win in the season's tournament, with Willian celebrating his 300th appearance for the Blues with a late volleyed winner.

Abraham praised his team's performance, saying, "We came into the game and we knew that we needed to win. I knew I would get my chance today and I think I took it well."

He also credited the team's new system, which Lampard had been drilling in training, saying, "We worked on it in training, the manager he always wants to mix it up."

Willian, who was happy to give credit to his team-mates for the way they responded to Victor Osimhen's equaliser, said, "We deserved to win tonight. We needed to win and we have worked hard every day, every game."
