After 13 years of entertaining Kenyans, Citizen TV's popular comedy series 'Machachari' is coming to an end this week.

According to Royal Media Services production manager Stanley Ngige, the show's characters had outgrown the storyline, making it necessary to bring the series to a close.

Ngige explained that the decision to end the show was made to allow for the development of new content that would be more relevant to the target audience.

‘The story came to an end. This Friday is the grand finale,’ Ngige said.

He noted that the cast had been prepared for the end of the show through counseling sessions, mentorship, and preparations for their future endeavors.

Ngige expressed pride in the show's alumni, who have gone on to achieve great things, including Tyler Mbaya, popularly known as Baha, who has grown up to be a producer of his own content.

Ngige also spoke about the changes in programming on some shows, including 'Inspekta Mwala' and 'Papa Shirandula', which will now air at 6:30 pm.

‘Good content will always find its consumers. With the digital migration, fans can always catch up with the shows online,’ Ngige said.
