June 22, 2020, marked a significant day for Jubilee's Adan Keynan, as he was appointed as the party's secretary by President Uhuru Kenyatta. However, this appointment has brought back to the forefront a murder case that the MP had faced in the past.

According to activist Boniface Mwangi, Keynan was accused of shooting three men to death and dumping their bodies in a forest in Ngong. The incident occurred after a piece of land he was selling in Nairobi for Sh34 million turned out to be fake.

Keynan was, however, acquitted of the charges based on lack of evidence. In a ruling, the judge cast his own suspicions, stating, 'I do note with deep sorrow that due to unavailability of evidence as per law, I have to decide as I have done, although this court did harbour some suspicion as to guilt of the Accused.'

Despite the acquittal, the case has resurfaced, and many are questioning Keynan's appointment as Jubilee Coalition Secretary. Mwangi has expressed his concerns, stating that those appointed to spearhead the change of the constitution movement will play dirty politics and may even resort to bribery, blackmail, and murder.
