Kimani Mburu, director of the popular Kenyan children's show Machachari, is in mourning following the death of his wife Mary Mukiri on October 2, 2019.
Mary, a mother of four, lost her battle with lung cancer at the Texas Cancer Centre.
She was also the mother of Machachari actress Shi, who played the role of Millie's best friend on the show.
Speaking to Mpasho, Kimani shared his emotional reaction to Mary's passing, saying:
'It hurts to see someone who was healthy and okay just die like that.'
Kimani also emphasized the challenges faced by cancer patients, stating:
'You have to be courageous and strong for them. Cancer leaves one malnourished, drains your pocket, and even after that she didn't make it.'
