On Tuesday morning, a multi-agency security team from the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) and the Recce Squad conducted a dawn raid in Likoni, Mombasa County, resulting in the deaths of three suspected terrorists.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects were killed after a fierce exchange with the police, who were armed with over 20 officers. Seven other individuals were arrested during the operation.

‘Those arrested are currently undergoing investigative interviewing,’ said the DCI.

During the raid, police recovered a significant cache of weapons, including a G3 rifle, grenades, over 1,600 bullets, and bomb-making material. Other items seized included 68 air rifle pellets, nine balaclavas, military/police uniforms, military holsters, rifle oil, a GPS device, six machetes, and three knives.
