On October 1, 2019, Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko received a nomination for the prestigious 2019 Humanitarian Awards, a testament to his team's dedication to humanitarian services.

The Humanitarian Awards, organized by the World Peace and Diplomacy Organisation, aim to identify and recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional humanitarian attributes.

As part of his agenda when taking office, Governor Sonko established the Sonko Rescue Team, a disaster management initiative that provides quick response services to those in need.

The team, comprising young and energetic youths, has grown significantly over the years, offering a range of services including free ambulances, fire response services, hearse services, clean water tankers, security patrol services, and fire breakdown services.

Under Governor Sonko's leadership, the team has expanded its reach, crossing different counties in Kenya and soon to be crossing borders.

As the Good Deeds Ambassador for Kenya, Governor Sonko continues to inspire others to follow in his footsteps, making a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate.
