On May 5, 2021, FIFA announced its decision to expel Zoo Kericho from the Kenyan Premier League (2020/2021 season) due to the club's involvement in match manipulation.

According to FIFA, the club breached articles 8 (Responsibility) and 18 (Manipulation of football matches and competitions) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.

Club Chairman Ken Ochieng has vowed to appeal the decision, stating, 'I will seek a stay order execution at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) because there is a provision to continue with the league while we are still going on with the case.'

The alleged match manipulation occurred between 2018 and 2020, involving two Kenyan Premier League matches played on January 27, 2019, in Machakos between Sofapaka and Zoo, and on March 1, 2020, between Wazito FC and Zoo.

As a result of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee's decision, Zoo Kericho has been assigned to FKF Division One for the next season.

The club has cast aspersions on the report from Zurich, referring to it as inadequate and its findings doubtful.
