Mike Mutai, a fourth-year student at Multi Media University, went missing on August 9th, 2019, and his lifeless body was discovered at City Mortuary on September 25th, 2019.
His father had reported his disappearance at Ruai police station, but the authorities failed to comment on the case despite his family's efforts to seek information.
Multi Media University announced the student's death in a statement, which read:
"We regret to announce the death of the late Mr Mike Mutai BUS -241-05,2014, a fourth-year second semester student pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Commerce from the Faculty of Business and Economics. His body was discovered at the City Mortuary on Wednesday, 25th September 2019."
The burial date was set for October 2nd, 2019, at their home in Gakindu, Mukurweini, Nyeri County, with a memorial service held on October 1st, 2019, at Pavilion B.
Investigations are still ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding Mike's death.
