Published on September 30, 2019, a series of explosive tweets by Bravin, a social media user, has sparked a heated debate about the alleged exploitation of Sailors, a popular Gengetone group.
According to Bravin, the group is being taken advantage of by their manager, LE Mwalimu, who allegedly threatens to sabotage their career if they try to open their own YouTube channel.
Bravin's tweets also claim that the group is heavily exploited, with members unable to afford clothes for photoshoots despite being booked every weekend.
Responding to the allegations, Mwalimu Rachel tweeted, 'We sail on... @sailors254 our focus is razor-sharp and they can't understand nor stand it.'
Bravin's accusations have raised plausible issues about the treatment of young artistes in the industry, with many calling for greater transparency and accountability.
