Published on September 30, 2019, a 50-year-old man was arrested in Nyamira County for allegedly defiling his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
The suspect, an ex-convict, was arrested on Sunday after being in hiding since Friday when he allegedly committed the act.
According to the man's 19-year-old wife, she left the toddler under her father's care on Friday only to return and find him washing the minor's private parts.
She took her daughter to a nearby hospital where it was confirmed that the child had been defiled, upon which she reported to the police.
The suspect was detained at Ekerenyo Police Station and is expected to be arraigned in court today.
