Published on September 24, 2019, two Ugandans were arrested in Nairobi on suspicion of stealing a child and a vehicle.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the suspects were intercepted at the Malaba border as they attempted to cross into Uganda.
“Child rescued in stable condition and Mazda Premacy KCG 619W also recovered,” the report reads.
The suspects were brought back to Nairobi and are scheduled to appear in court this week.
This incident comes on the heels of a similar case in August, where a woman suspected of stealing a baby from Nakuru and taking her to the Kenya-Uganda border was arraigned in court.
Police were investigating her for child trafficking, but the suspect maintained that she was the child's mother.
Earlier in June, a baby 'stolen' from Nairobi and taken to Naivasha had died, according to a report by the Daily Nation.
