Mistakes to Avoid as a New Mom

Published on September 16, 2019

As a new mom, it's natural to feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. However, there are some common mistakes that you should avoid to ensure a healthy and happy baby.

  • Comparing your baby with others is a major mistake. Every baby grows at their own pace, and comparing them to others can lead to feelings of inadequacy and worry.
  • Not accepting help from friends and family is another mistake. As a new mom, you need rest and support, and not accepting help can lead to burnout and exhaustion.
  • Neglecting your baby's oral hygiene is also a mistake. Start cleaning your baby's gums even before their teeth develop to prevent cavities.
  • Not sleeping when the baby sleeps is a common mistake. While it's tempting to use this time to do household chores, it's essential to get enough rest to take care of yourself and your baby.
  • Believing everything you hear is a mistake. If your baby has a fever, don't post it on social media seeking advice. Instead, take them to the hospital.
  • Locking yourself in the house is also a mistake. While it's true that babies can get sick, a stroll in the neighborhood can be beneficial for both you and your baby.
