On September 13, 2019, the Nairobi Polo Club witnessed an exciting match between Patrick Mavros and White Cap Lite in the 6-Goal White Cap Nairobi International Polo Championships.
Patrick Mavros, with a handicap of 6.5, stormed into the finals after beating White Cap Lite 11-6.5 in a thrilling match.
The winning team consisted of handicap three Mbu Ngugi, Tarquin Gross (four), and Jose Craig (three), who scored for Patrick Mavros in the four chukkas.
White Cap Lite, on the other hand, scored three goals each through Mini Trappe and Gordy Millar, but it was not enough to take them to the finals.
White Cap, with a handicap of 5, had already secured their spot in the finals by defeating Toyota 9-3.5 in the second semi-final.
The Toyota team, comprising handicap five South Africa international Brad Mac Gibbon, Harry Griffiths (1.5), Hiromi Nzomo (0), and Jadini Nzomo (0.5), put up a good fight but ultimately lost to White Cap.
The 6-Goal White Cap Nairobi International Polo Championships attracted players from Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa, serving as a curtain raiser for the 14-Goal Nairobi International Polo Championships.
The 14-Goal competition will feature players from the United Kingdom, South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, and New Zealand.
