September 15, 2021, marked a significant milestone for Cecilia Karanja, a woman who had spent over a decade struggling with infertility. Despite being thrice married and twice divorced, Cecilia's perseverance paid off when she finally became a mother of three.

Her journey to motherhood began when she was just 24 years old. She got married, but the couple's inability to conceive a child led to marital breakdown. Cecilia's husband turned violent, and she eventually got divorced after six years.

Undeterred, Cecilia got married again, but her second marriage also ended in divorce due to the lack of children. It was during this time that she discovered she had blocked tubes and fibroids, making it impossible for her to conceive.

However, Cecilia refused to give up. She underwent a laparoscopy to unblock her tubes and remove the fibroids, but the high cost of the surgery forced her to put her plans on hold. Meanwhile, her second husband was already involved with someone else, and he eventually kicked her out, citing that she would never have a baby.

But Cecilia's determination to become a mother never wavered. She saved enough money for the surgery and had a successful operation. After six months of healing, she met her current husband, and they got pregnant within four months of starting their relationship.

Today, Cecilia is a proud mother of three, and she has used her experience to help others who may be going through similar struggles. In 2014, she founded Fertility Kenya, an organization dedicated to providing hope and support to individuals and couples struggling with infertility.
