On November 4, 2021, Super Metro PSV Sacco took a major step forward in expanding its services by acquiring 50 vehicles through a leasing deal with Coop Bank Fleet Africa Leasing scheme.
The acquisition was made possible through a leasing deal with Coop Bank Fleet Africa Leasing scheme, which will enable the Sacco to provide better services to its customers.
According to Nelson Mwangi, Chairman of Super Metro PSV Sacco, the acquisition of the 50 vehicles will enable the Sacco to provide services to areas that were previously not covered, including Jogoo Road, Kangundo Road, and Kitengela.
“We are happy to receive these vehicles, and the routes like Jogoo Road, Kangundo Road, and Kitengela will now enjoy our services,” said Nelson Mwangi.
The leasing deal is cost-effective, as the Sacco will continue generating revenue while paying monthly or quarterly instalments against the cost of the vehicle.
Coop Bank Fleet Chief Executive Officer, Robert Mbugua, explained that the leasing deal is a cost-effective way for PSV Saccos to acquire new vehicles and pay monthly or quarterly instalments against the cost of the vehicle as it continues to generate revenues for them.
Super Metro PSV Sacco has become the first Matatu Sacco to accept leasing services, which was initially met with skepticism.
Isuzu Managing Director, Rita Kavashe, encouraged Super Metro to continue being organized so that when the government selects Sacco’s to offer BRT services, they will be among them.
“There are many leasing opportunities. The government will be taking Sacco’s that are Organized to give the services,” said MD Rita Kavashe.
