Published on September 10, 2021, a disturbing trend has emerged with the OnePlus smartphone brand. In the latest incident, a OnePlus smartphone caught fire in India, leaving the owner severely injured.

According to reports, the phone owner felt a sudden surge of heat in his jacket pocket, only to discover that the smartphone was already engulfed in flames. The owner's clothes also caught fire, resulting in injuries to his eyesight and hearing.

"I feel like I had my death certificate in my pocket. I am very glad that I am still alive," said the lawyer, who was the phone owner. He is currently undergoing medical treatment and is said to be traumatized by the incident.

This is not the first time a OnePlus smartphone has caught fire. In August, a five-day-old OnePlus Nord 2 also experienced a similar issue. The incident raises serious concerns about the safety and quality of OnePlus smartphones.
