Kenya's National women volleyball team, Malkia Strikers, kicked off their Olympics campaign with a spirited performance, but ultimately fell to hosts Japan in straight sets on July 25, 2021, at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo.

Although they struggled to keep pace in the opening two sets, losing 25-15 and 25-11, the Kenyan girls showed remarkable resilience in the third set, pushing the Japanese to the wire before ultimately succumbing 25-23.

Despite the loss, the team will take confidence from their performance and look to bounce back in their next match against Korea.
