On July 25, 2021, a joyous moment was shared on social media as Ferdinand Omondi proposed to his long-time girlfriend Caroline Njeri.
According to a post on Twitter, Omondi announced the engagement, quoting 1 Corinthians 13:13, saying, “And now these three remain faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. She said yes.”
Caroline Njeri, a journalist and social entrepreneur, also shared her joy on social media, quoting from the Bible, saying, “Like Mary in Luke Chapter 1, my soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my saviour, for God has looked with favour on the lowliness of the almighty’s servant.”
She further expressed her gratitude, saying, “Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is God’s name. God’s mercy is for those who fear God from generation to generation. God has shown strength with God’s arm; #harusitunayo.”
Caroline Njeri is a seasoned journalist with 12 years of experience in finance, accounting, consultancy, and is also pursuing a master's degree in applied philosophy and ethics at Strathmore University.
She has worked as the head of internal audit for the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops, a board of trustee member for the Kenya Tourism Fund, and a board member at Ecotourism Kenya.
She also runs her social enterprise that sells creative handmade crafts such as decorative pieces, jewelry, bags, and attire.
