Nairobi City Stars temporarily moved to fifth place in the FKF Premier League standings with 36 points after defeating Ulinzi Stars 2-0 at ASK Showground in Nakuru on Saturday, July 10, 2021.
Former Gor Mahia and Zoo striker Nicholas Kipkirui opened the scoring in the first half, slotting the ball past Ulinzi goalkeeper Timothy Ulinzi after a defensive blunder. Four minutes later, Bolton Omwenga doubled the lead with a long-range free-kick goal.
The goals proved to be enough for City Stars coach Sanjin Alagic to secure his 10th win of the season. Ulinzi, on the other hand, suffered their fourth consecutive loss, with the servicemen now winless in four matches and dropping to 10th place in the log with 28 points.
Ulinzi's poor run continued, with the team conceding nine goals in their last three matches, including a 4-1 loss to Tusker and a 3-1 defeat to Kakamega Homeboyz.
