Deputy President William Ruto has revealed his shareholdings in Safaricom and Kenya Airways, worth millions of shillings. According to the deputy president, he owns 400,000 shares in Safaricom and 80,000 shares in Kenya Airways, as of the current market prices.

At the current price of Sh. 42 per share, his Safaricom shares are worth Sh. 17 million. His stake in Kenya Airways, valued at Sh. 3.83 per share, is worth Sh. 306,000.

DP Ruto made the revelation in response to allegations by Interior CS Fred Matiang'i that he is the second most protected individual in Kenya, with a cumulative total of 257 officers guarding him.

However, the deputy president clarified that much of what Matiang'i had revealed belonged to him, but there were properties that he did not own, which the minister had alleged he owned.

DP Ruto also revealed that he earns Sh. 1.5 million per day from his chicken farming business, which involves 200,000 chickens and the sale of 150,000 eggs daily.
