WCB Wasafi: A Record Label with a Flawed Reputation ¶
Despite its success in the music industry, WCB Wasafi has been plagued by a series of high-profile exits. The label, owned by Diamond Platnumz, has been accused of poor management and lack of career elevation for its artists.
One of the earliest celebrities to part ways with the label was Q Boy Msafi, a stylist and singer who was responsible for Diamond's outfits. He was reportedly chased away due to indiscipline cases and lack of respect.
Another notable exit was that of Rich Mavoko, a singer who joined WCB Wasafi in 2016 but left in 2018 to start his own label, Billionaire Kid. He cited the label's failure to elevate his career as the reason for his departure.
Photographer Kifesi, who had been working with Diamond since 2013, also left the label in 2018 to start his own venture, Kifesi Company Limited. He cited personal growth opportunities as the reason for his exit.
Manager Mr. Puaz, who had been handling Harmonize's career, resigned from WCB Wasafi in January 2019 due to work-related misunderstandings. He was later replaced by Mjerumani 255, who started working with Harmonize in March 2019.
Other notable exits from the label include Sandra Brown, who was the first female manager under WCB Wasafi, and Zamaradi Mketema, a media personality who left the label to start her own TV channel, Zamaradi TV.
Even Diamond's official bodyguard, Mwarabu Fighter, has parted ways with the label. The reasons for these exits are varied, but they all point to a deeper issue within the label.
