On January 1, 2021, and April 30, 2021, two men allegedly duped an Italian national, Lewis Ikena, out of Ksh. 19 million.

According to the police, the two men, Gideon Nuka Gbavopnu and Seth Steve Okute, obtained the money by false pretense.

The DCI stated that preliminary investigations indicate the two men had been following the preacher in his gospel missions and found an opportunity to strike when he got into the country.

They were lured into a trap after being shown fake gold, which they paid for, and even paid a significant amount of money to have a private jet deliver the consignment in Dubai.

However, they failed to deliver the shipment to Dubai as planned.
