Mayfair Casino Nairobi Staff Member Raises Claims Of Racism, Tribalism And Unfair Dismissals
Newsroom 2 min read
A staff member at Mayfair Casino Nairobi has raised claims of racial discrimination against customers and tribalism-related workplace harassment affecting employees.
In a message sent to this publication, the worker requested full anonymity and described the complaint as a whistleblowing report concerning alleged discrimination, workplace targeting and unfair dismissals at the casino.
According to the staff member, the claims are directed at a floor manager identified as Mr. Muli.
The worker alleges that customers of African descent are subjected to hostile treatment, profiling, harsh surveillance and an unwelcoming environment, while non-African patrons allegedly receive more favourable treatment.
The staff member also claims that employees are targeted based on ethnicity or personal dislike.
According to the complaint, once an employee is marked, a hostile work environment is allegedly created around them through claims of poor performance, minor workplace incidents or disciplinary issues.
The worker further claims that some employees lose their jobs without fair disciplinary processes.
“Once Mr. Muli marks an employee based on their ethnicity or personal dislike, he creates a hostile work environment, falsifies performance issues, or orchestrates minor setup incidents. He uses his managerial influence to ensure these targeted individuals lose their jobs, bypassing fair disciplinary procedures and depriving qualified Kenyan citizens of their livelihood purely on nepotism and tribal bias,” the staff member claimed.
The employee is calling for the matter to be made public while keeping their identity protected.
