Former Harambee Stars Captain Musa Otieno has tested positive for COVID-19, despite his efforts to help those in need during the pandemic.
As reported by Carol Radull on Twitter, Otieno has been distributing foodstuff and essential items to families in Nairobi's slums through his organization, Kick off to Hope.
Radull expressed her well wishes to Otieno, saying, 'He's been risking it all to ensure families in Nairobi's slums have food on their tables during these tough times. And now Musa Otieno has tested positive for covid-19. Pray for his healing and that of all covid-19 patients.'
Otieno's efforts to help those in need have been recognized by many, with Kenyans expressing their well wishes for his quick recovery.
Through Kick off to Hope, Otieno has been providing support to families affected by the pandemic, including the families of his former teammates.
As Otieno himself stated in an interview with Capital Sports last month, 'Most of the players' parents have lost income because a huge number do contractual jobs which are no longer available. And that means that even the players themselves are not eating well. We have started a program where we have set aside five dollars for each family and we have started with our players.'
