On June 28, 2020, Kenya's Covid-19 cases reached a milestone of 6,070, following the confirmation of 259 new cases from 2,718 samples in the last 24 hours, as announced by Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi.

During the Ministry of Health's daily briefing at Afya House in Nairobi, Dr. Mwangangi reported that 35 patients had been discharged from various hospitals after making full recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,971.

Unfortunately, two patients succumbed to the virus, increasing the national death toll to 143.

Of the 259 new cases, 156 were Kenyans, while three were foreigners, with a gender distribution of 159 male and 100 female patients aged between eight months and 92 years old.
