Kenya Records 254 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Now at 5,206 ¶
Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi confirmed 254 new positive cases of COVID-19 during the daily briefings at Afya House on June 24th.
As of June 24th, Kenya's total number of confirmed positive cases stood at 5,206, according to the ministry's distribution data.
The new cases were distributed as follows: Nairobi (127), Mombasa (36), Migori (29), Kajiado (22), Kiambu (12), Busia (9), Uasin Gishu (5), Muranga (3), Machakos and Kilifi (2 cases each), and one case each in Nakuru, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Garissa, Isiolo, Kakamega, and Kisii.
Dr. Mwangangi also announced that 41 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,823. Two more deaths were reported, raising the number of fatalities to 130.
Dr. Mwangangi thanked health volunteers for their commitment and dedication in supervising home-based and isolation care programs.
