Ex-KDF Officer Patrick Osoi Arrested Over Anti-Police Brutality Protests.
Detectives on Tuesday raided the home of Patrick Osoi, a former KDF soldier and US Army veteran, and arrested him over claims that he was organizing ex-security officers into an anti-government movement.

Osoi had just launched a group called Fighting Brutality and Impunity (FBI), which he said was meant to support victims of police brutality and defend officers punished for refusing illegal orders. His communications team called the arrest an “abduction” and said heavily armed officers took him without warning.
A post from his official X account called for his release, stating that the reasons for his arrest were unclear at the time. By Wednesday, his team confirmed he was being held at Muthaiga Police Station, facing charges of planning to commit a crime.
Osoi had earlier said the FBI movement included former officers who had lost their jobs for backing protestors or disobeying unlawful commands. He said their mission was to fight for justice for both ordinary Kenyans and security officers abandoned by the system.
He expressed readiness to pay the price for his activism, saying he would rather die proud than live in silence under oppression.
Osoi had teamed up with others who faced similar backlash, including Hiram Kimathi, a police officer who refused a transfer after speaking against a shoot order, and Jackson Kuria Kihara, also known as Cop Shakur, a prison officer suspended for joining protests against the Finance Bill.
His arrest comes amid rising concern from human rights groups about government crackdowns on dissent and alleged forced disappearances.
