The prolonged downtime of the official Unified Human Resource (UHR) system portal, uhr.go.ke, has sparked growing frustration among civil servants and cyber café operators, with the platform remaining inaccessible for over three weeks.

Reports indicate that this outage has not only hindered access to essential HR services such as payslips but has also led to missing funds from transactions handled at the cyber units used by those trying to access the platform.
The Ministry of ICT, which is responsible for the upkeep and operation of government digital platforms, has yet to provide any meaningful response or timeline for when the system will be restored.
This lack of communication and accountability is aggravating the already stressed workforce, with many relying on the portal for timely and accurate information about their earnings and employment status.
“Hi Nyakundi. The uhr.go.ke portal has been completely down for weeks now and no one is giving us any communication about what is going on. Watu wengi wanakuja kwa cyber kila siku wakitaka kufungua payslip zao au ku-download employment letters lakini system haifunguki at all. Kindly help us amplify this.”
