Has the land housing Kilimani Police Station been earmarked for private development?
According to a source familiar with developments around the property, part of the land on which the Kilimani Police Station in Nairobi currently stands has allegedly been fenced off, sparking claims that it may have been irregularly acquired.

The source, who asked to remain anonymous, further claims that there are plans to construct residential flats on the disputed portion, with conversations already circulating about the station being relocated — possibly to Lang’ata, although no exact location has been identified.
“Hi Nyakundi. Have you heard anything regarding the land where Kilimani police station sits? Try and go or send someone there to check the area out. So you corroborate whether the details match. Then keep me as anonymous. Before then, here is the story. The land on which Kilimani police station sits has apparently been grabbed and part of it is already cordoned off. Plans are underway for the grabbers to build blocks of flats. Also, rumours have it that there are plans to move the station to some place in Langata. Not sure where exactly. So, very soon the entire Kilimani police might become history. In its place there will be private investments. Please do your own investigations first although I have no reason to doubt the person that shared these details,” a source familiar with the matter informed us.
These claims point to a major shift in land use and public security infrastructure in the Kilimani area.
At the time of reporting, no formal communication appears to have been issued regarding any relocation or redevelopment plan, raising further questions on transparency and due process.
It also remains unclear whether the National Police Service or relevant government agencies are aware of or have sanctioned any changes to the land’s status.
We are independently verifying these claims on the ground and reviewing available land records and will update accordingly.
Anyone with further information or details regarding the land in question or the alleged plans for its redevelopment is encouraged to come forward and share their insights to help clarify the situation.
