Migaa Golf Estate controversy deepens as residents raise claims of bribery and altered masterplan approvals under former Kiambu Governor...

@yobos · Nov 11

The ongoing dispute between Migaa Golf Estate residents and the developers of the project, Home Afrika Limited , has deepened following fresh allegations of bribery and mismanagement linked to the approval of the estate’s master plan.

A detailed communication shared by the Migaa Home Owners group accuses former Kiambu Governor James Nyoro of receiving unlawful payments to endorse a contested plan that altered the designated land use within the estate. Migaa Golf Estate controversy deepens as residents accuse Home Afrika and former Kiambu Governor James Nyoro of bribery and illegal masterplan approvals.

The alleged alterations involved the subdivision of areas originally reserved for communal amenities such as schools and open spaces, converting them into residential plots without public participation or lawful authorization.

According to the communication, the developers first sought approval under the administration of former Governor Ferdinand Waititu, who was removed from office before completing the process.

Upon the appointment of James Nyoro, Home Afrika directors are alleged to have approached him with an offer of sixty million shillings to secure approval.

The report claims that Ksh 30 million was paid in cash through the firm’s General Manager Dickson Wanjohi under the instruction of Board Chairperson Peter Mungai.

The remaining value was allegedly delivered through four plots within Migaa, each valued at approximately six million shillings, transferred through Premier Realty Limited and later sold to unsuspecting buyers.

The proceeds were then allegedly remitted to Nyoro through intermediary bank transfers managed by the law firm Robson Harris and Company Advocates.

The communication also alleges that Nyoro reduced land rates payable by Home Afrika from seventeen million shillings to two point two million shillings, a decision said to have deprived Kiambu County of essential revenue.

It further claims that Nyoro rewarded Mungai with five million shillings for facilitating the transaction.

The letter warns that if the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission initiates investigations, the buyers of the affected plots may lose their property as they were derived from proceeds of corruption.

The grievances form part of a much larger conflict between Migaa home owners and the developers, who have for years been accused of abandoning the original master plan and failing to deliver promised amenities such as schools, health centres, and community facilities.

Residents argue that land initially reserved for communal purposes has been sold for private gain, undermining both the value and intended character of the estate.

They also claim that Home Afrika constructed housing units on land meant for commercial use without lawful approvals, demanded service charges far in advance without delivering basic utilities, and pursued profits at the expense of residents’ welfare.

Home Afrika Limited, together with partners Tulip Limited and Linyanti Limited, holds majority control of the project.

The firm has been under public pressure over multiple developments across the country, amid complaints of incomplete infrastructure, irregular financial management, and project delays.

Residents of Migaa have secured favourable court rulings in earlier disputes, yet enforcement of those decisions remains a central challenge.

At the core of the ongoing grievances is a demand for restoration of the original master plan, completion of key amenities, and transparency in land transactions.

The homeowners insist that the current state of affairs represents a breach of trust between developers and residents and have vowed to pursue legal and regulatory redress to protect their investments and restore integrity within the estate.

Below is the full communication from the Migaa Home Owners group, as well as the supporting documentation. "Dear Cyprian. Thank you for airing our views on your platform. We would also like to give more information on how Migaa was able to bribe former Kiambu Governor James Nyoro to have their masterplan approved. They subdivided the secondary and primary school, communal areas and any open spaces they could find but the county refused to approve. They first bribed Waititu but he was impeached before approving the masterplan. His plots are already on the list of things EACC is investigating him on. When Nyoro came in, Migaa/Home Afrika directors looked for him and he demanded 60M to approve the illegal masterplan. First, he was given Kshs 30M in cash, amounts withdrawn from their various bank accounts on different dates by the General Manager Dickson Wanjohi under instructions from his Board Chairman Peter Mungai. Additionally, Peter approved allocation of 4 plots to the Governor, valued at 6 million per plot so total of 24M. Total amount received by Nyoro was over 50M. To conceal the transaction the plots were first assigned to Premier Realty Limited and later sold to unsuspecting buyers through Migaa Lawyers Robson Harris and Company Advocates. The clients paid to the lawyers’ bank accounts and later the funds were transferred to Premier Realty for ease of withdrawal in cash and money given to Nyoro. Premier Realty is owned by Michael Kiarie, another scammer in the real estate industry and has an office at Western Heights Westlands. This is also the same building where Nyoro has his private office.

See the plot numbers and the buyers who bought the plots unknowingly.

Plot MM-21 – Sold to Kelvin Gitaru Kariuki (bought from Premier Realty Limited) Plot MM-23 – Sold to Ouma Otieno (bought from Premier Realty Limited) Plot MM-25 – Sold to Evans Karanja Kibe (bought from Premier Realty Limited) Plot MM-27 – Premier Realty Limited

In case EACC investigates the matter, the buyers might end up losing the plots or houses because these are proceeds of corruption (see the approved Masterplan by Nyoro).

From this, Peter Mungai was given a kickback of Kshs 5M by Mr. Nyoro for a job well done.

Governor Nyoro also reduced the rates payable by Migaa from Ksh 17M to Kshs 2.2M, denying the county much needed revenue (see attached receipts and original Rates Invoice).

There is a plan to now subdivide the commercial space and remaining primary school into residential eighth-acre plots as they do not have any more plots to sell. They want to engage the current governor to have it illegally approved, denying the residents commercial area and school." View document View document View document

Ruth Odinga Raps Raila for Protecting Sakaja from Nairobi Impeachment

@yobos · Sep 5

Ruth Odinga, sister to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, has launched a rare but fierce attack on her brother for shielding Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja from impeachment. Her blunt remarks exposed deep cracks within the Odinga family and the ODM party, fueling public debate on Raila’s loyalty to the people of Nairobi. Ruth said the decision to block the impeachment bid betrayed the constitutional role of oversight by MCAs and weakened devolution. Her criticism has reignited the storm over Sakaja’s controversial leadership. Ruth Odinga’s bold stand against her brother Raila has shifted the debate on Nairobi politics. By calling out the shielding of Sakaja, she has not only defended the principle of oversight but also exposed the deep tension between political deals and constitutional duty. [Images: Courtesy] Ruth Odinga Takes On Raila Over Sakaja Ruth Odinga did not mince her words when addressing reporters on the collapse of Sakaja’s impeachment push. She accused Raila of undermining the oversight powers of Nairobi MCAs by cutting a deal to protect the embattled governor. “One of the main tenets of devolution is that MCAs are oversighters of the county government. The fact that the MCAs of Nairobi declared they had no confidence in the Governor should have been recognised. Nothing should have been done to stop them,” Ruth said. She further explained that impeachment was the only legitimate route to resolve grievances that MCAs had raised against Sakaja. Blocking the process, she argued, was an insult to the spirit of accountability entrenched in the Constitution. “They should have been allowed to go through with the petition. If they felt wronged, they should have impeached him and sent him to the Senate. To stop the process, when there were already grievances, was very disappointing,” Ruth said. According to her, Nairobi MCAs betrayed the people by bowing to political pressure. She noted that by shelving the impeachment, they had abandoned their oversight role and left residents without recourse. Why Ruth Odinga Believes MCAs Betrayed Devolution The Kisumu Woman Representative insisted that the impeachment bid was not about political games but about accountability. She maintained that MCAs had gathered valid complaints against Sakaja, and abandoning the process only emboldened incompetence. “They should have upheld the tenet of devolution that states that MCAs were in charge of oversighting the Governor. For me, I am very clear and categorical, the MCAs of Nairobi have let down the people of Nairobi,” she declared. The grievances against Sakaja included delays in bursary disbursement, the collapse of the Ward Development Fund, and neglect of Nairobi residents’ needs. Many MCAs also accused Sakaja of ignoring ward-level priorities and failing to deliver on his campaign promises. ODM and UDA MCAs had already collected more than 70 signatures out of the 82 required to formally table the impeachment motion. Yet, the pressure mounted by Raila and President William Ruto at separate meetings ended the drive before it reached the Assembly. Raila hosted Sakaja and ODM-allied MCAs at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation, persuading them to hold off for a month. The governor reportedly apologised for his failures and pledged to correct his mistakes. At the same time, President Ruto held a parallel meeting with UDA MCAs at State House, warning them against pushing for impeachment. The ball is now firmly in Sakaja’s court. If he cannot fix Nairobi’s problems, no political shield will save him from the wrath of residents and MCAs determined to defend devolution. [PHOTO: Courtesy] Ruth Odinga Defends Oversight Powers of MCAs Ruth Odinga stressed that impeachment is not a political weapon but a constitutional safeguard. She argued that the process ensures governors remain accountable to the people who elected them. Her criticism has raised questions about Raila’s judgment at a time when he is positioning himself for the top job at the African Union Commission. Analysts believe Ruth’s remarks expose Raila to accusations of being out of touch with grassroots frustrations. By siding with Sakaja, Raila and Ruto may have averted a political showdown in Nairobi, but they also silenced legitimate concerns raised by the Assembly. Ruth warned that this decision sets a dangerous precedent where political deals override constitutional checks and balances. Incompetent Sakaja Still Under Fire Despite Political Rescue Even after being saved from immediate impeachment, Sakaja remains on shaky ground. The grievances against him have not disappeared. Nairobi residents still demand answers on bursaries, stalled projects, and unmet campaign pledges. Ruth Odinga’s intervention has rekindled public anger, with many Nairobians questioning whether Raila prioritised political expediency over accountability. The pressure is now on Sakaja to prove his worth within the one-month grace period granted by ODM MCAs. If he fails to deliver, the impeachment storm could return, this time with stronger backing from Ruth and other leaders who believe Nairobi deserves better governance.

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has found himself at the center of a calculated plot designed to derail his political career ahead of the 2027 general election. The governor, known for his bold “Tawe” brand and defiance of political dynasties, is now the target of an elaborate scheme that blends courtroom tactics, tribal rivalry, and backroom power deals. Sources reveal that forces within and outside the Western region are scheming not just to stop him but to jail him, permanently removing him from Kenya’s political chessboard. The plot to jail Natembeya is not just a legal matter — it’s a political assassination attempt dressed as justice. The forces behind it are scared, not of corruption, but of a leader who dares to challenge the status quo. Whether he survives or not will define who controls the Western region in 2027. [Photo: Courtesy] Political Bigwigs Plot to Jail Natembeya to Save Their Influence There is a covert plan unfolding against Governor George Natembeya . The goal is simple — jail him before 2027 and end his political rise.

Night meetings in Nairobi have brought together politicians from both the Luhya and Kalenjin communities. These meetings are not about development or national unity. They are aimed at fixing Natembeya in court using corruption charges that insiders say are part of a larger political game.

The plot is backed by powerful names. National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi are said to be leading voices behind the strategy. Both have seen Natembeya gain massive support in Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Kakamega, Vihiga, and Busia — areas they consider their political bases.

Their fear? That Natembeya will shift the political power balance in the Western region and render them irrelevant.

According to confidential reports, Kalenjin power barons are exploiting Luhya disunity to secure personal gains. When a motion to impeach Natembeya failed in the Trans Nzoia County Assembly, these operatives activated Plan B — the criminal court route.

Senator Allan Chesang, believed to have been assigned the impeachment mission, failed to deliver. Now, the focus has shifted to using the courts. The idea is to block Natembeya from office for months, allowing his deputy Philomena Kapkory to take over — a power shift that benefits Kalenjin interests. Courtroom Drama Is a Political Weapon Natembeya was recently arraigned on charges of irregular payments amounting to over KSh 3.2 million. His accusers claim conflict of interest and abuse of office. However, many observers believe the real crime is his refusal to kneel before political dynasties.

Despite efforts to deny him bail, Natembeya was released on a bond of KSh 1 million or KSh 500,000 in cash. That outcome shocked his enemies, who had pushed the Director of Public Prosecutions Renson Ingonga to oppose his release.

Natembeya denied all charges. But the legal battle is far from over. The intention is not necessarily to win in court — it’s to exhaust him, tarnish his image, and keep him from campaigning.

This is not the first time political players have used the courts to silence rising leaders. Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko and former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu were both impeached and blocked from contesting in later elections after being charged in similar circumstances. Natembeya could be next. Powerful Politicians Plot to Jail George Natembeya to Protect Their Grip on Western Kenya Politics Natembeya’s straightforward and confrontational style has shaken the old guard. He openly challenges top leaders and refuses to follow their script. That has earned him enemies across the political divide — even within his own DAP-K party.

Those celebrating his current troubles include Co-operatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya, MPs Nabii Nabwera, Emmanuel Wangwe, John Waluke, and others from ODM, Ford-K, and UDA. Even DAP-K MPs like Kakai Bisau and Patrick Simiyu are said to be happy with his court battles.

Bisau, who has failed twice in gubernatorial races, sees Natembeya’s troubles as his opportunity to finally capture the Trans Nzoia seat in 2027.

Behind the scenes, a narrative is being pushed — that if jailed, Natembeya will become a political orphan. His supporters will scatter, and he will be unable to run for any office. This would allow old political parties like Ford-K and UDA to reclaim lost ground in the region.

His “Tawe” movement — seen as a grassroots rebellion — has especially unsettled Wetang’ula and Mudavadi. Both fear that if Natembeya is left unchecked, he could become the face of a new political force in Western Kenya. Battle Lines Drawn as 2027 Approaches Natembeya has found few allies in the political class. Saboti MP Caleb Amisi and Kapchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga are among the few who have publicly stood by him. Senators Boni Khalwale, Okiya Omtatah, and Edwin Sifuna are also said to sympathize with his cause.

However, a powerful caucus of Western MPs has ganged up against him. Led by John Waluke, they claim Natembeya has insulted Speaker Wetang’ula and is dividing the region.

But on the ground, many still see him as the best hope for a new political direction. He won the 2022 governor race with 158,919 votes, nearly doubling the tally of his closest rival, Chris Wamalwa. His popularity, especially among youth and first-time voters, continues to rise.

The fight against him is not about justice. It is about survival. The political old guard fears his message, his movement, and most importantly, his independence.

They failed to remove him through the county assembly. Now, they are trying to jail him through the courts.

But if history is anything to go by, using the justice system to destroy political rivals has often backfired.

As Natembeya fights for his freedom and political future, Kenyans are watching closely. The next chapter in this war will determine not only his fate but the future of Western Kenya’s politics.

Murang’a MCA Was Hiding in Hotel With Koimburi During Fake Kidnapping

In a bizarre twist of events that has shaken Kenya’s political scene, Kanyenyaini Ward MCA Grace Nduta has been linked to the suspicious “abduction” of Juja MP George Koimburi. What was first reported as a high-profile kidnapping now appears to be a poorly disguised getaway. Sources say Nduta, known in political circles as “City,” was allegedly having a secret romantic escapade with Koimburi during the time he was declared missing. Now, questions are flying, reputations are crumbling, and Kenyans are demanding accountability for the shameful drama that’s wasting public resources and distracting from real issues. The Koimburi abduction drama is no longer just a security concern. It is a national embarrassment—a scandal showing how far some leaders will go to fool the people. The truth must come out, and those involved must face justice. [Photo: Courtesy] Murang’a’s MCA and Koimburi Caught in a Staged Abduction Love Affair The so-called Koimburi abduction drama has now taken a scandalous turn, with evidence suggesting that the missing MP was never really in danger. Instead, Koimburi may have been hiding in plain sight with Grace Nduta, who is now under police scrutiny. Nduta was reportedly taken into custody by detectives and held at a police post in Gatanga after she was tracked down following suspicious movements. This happened just days after reports went viral about Koimburi vanishing under mysterious circumstances. But sources in the investigation now reveal authorities believe the two were together all along—enjoying private time while the nation was fed false panic. Even more damning, the MCA’s own driver has confirmed he dropped her off at a hotel where the secret meeting likely occurred. “I left her there and noticed a suspicious vehicle nearby. I called to check on her and learned she had been taken by three men,” he said. However, insiders believe this “abduction” was not real but a cover-up for the scandalous rendezvous. Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata had earlier posted on X that the MCA was picked up and possibly held in Samuru Police Post. But he stopped short of giving details, leading to even more speculation. Shortly after, Koimburi was mysteriously “found” on a coffee farm in Kiambu, unharmed and with no evidence of violence. It didn’t add up then. It doesn’t add up now. MCA's Political Ties Raise Even More Questions Nduta’s allies suggest her woes are not just about the abduction story but also about her deep political ties. The embattled MCA recently welcomed former impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to a church service in Murang’a, further fueling claims that her political alliances are painting a target on her back. However, critics argue that the attempt to frame this scandal as political persecution is nothing more than a distraction. “You cannot use political alliances as an excuse for misconduct,” said one political analyst. “If Grace Nduta was found in a compromising position during the time the country believed Koimburi had been kidnapped, then she must answer for her role in deceiving the public.” The scandal is also affecting public trust in law enforcement and elected leaders. Many citizens now wonder how deep this deception goes and how many others might have known about it. Was it just the two of them, or did they have help in staging the drama? The embattled MCA recently welcomed former impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to a church service in Murang’a, further fueling claims that her political alliances are painting a target on her back. [Photo: Courtesy] MPs Demand Prosecution and Full Disclosure Outrage in Parliament has grown louder since the news broke. Several lawmakers are demanding a full investigation into what really happened between the Murang’a MCA and Koimburi during the time he was allegedly missing. “This is a shameful abuse of power and a betrayal of public trust,” one MP said. “If these leaders were hiding in hotels while we mobilized national security for a fake kidnapping, they must be prosecuted.” The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has remained tight-lipped but is under pressure to release full findings. The fake abduction story caused panic, wasted police resources, and dominated national headlines for days—all while the two leaders may have been secretly together. Koimburi has yet to give a full statement explaining where he was and what happened during his so-called abduction. Meanwhile, Nduta’s location remains unclear, with some claiming she has gone underground since being released by the authorities. This scandal shows the dark side of Kenya’s political theatre, where lies, power plays, and personal escapades overshadow the duties of elected office. As Kenyans struggle with a high cost of living, insecurity, and corruption, this spectacle only deepens the public’s frustration.

Aspiring politicians from Central Kenya are crying foul after it emerged that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is demanding Ksh 50,000 for a photo op at his popular Wamunyoro residence. Once viewed as the gateway to Central Kenya’s political powerhouse, Gachagua’s compound has morphed into a toll gate, where access is granted only to those who pay. Sources reveal that desperate young leaders are lining up, cash in hand, hoping that a photo with the impeached former DP will boost their political dreams. But critics argue Gachagua has monetized tribal influence and turned public desperation into personal gain. The “Gachagua Photo Ops” scandal is a stark reminder of how tribal loyalty and political desperation can be weaponized for personal gain. [Photo: Courtesy] Gachagua Photo Ops Spark Outrage as Leaders Accuse Him of Extortion Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri has become more than a political meeting point—it is now a lucrative business venture. With the 2027 elections approaching, young politicians from Central Kenya and beyond are flocking to Wamunyoro, hoping to tap into Gachagua’s remaining clout. But there’s a catch: anyone seeking a simple photo op must first part with Ksh 50,000.

Multiple insiders confirm that Gachagua’s team requires the money upfront. No receipt, no explanation—just cash. Once payment is made, hopefuls are granted access, posed with Gachagua, and later handed the prized photo to parade on social media or campaign posters.

This revelation has left political observers and party insiders stunned. Many now question the integrity of Gachagua’s dealings, especially considering that the former DP is no longer eligible to run for office due to impeachment and ongoing integrity concerns. With his political future in limbo, it appears Gachagua has found a new way to stay relevant—by selling influence to the highest bidder. New Political Party or Pay-to-Play Scheme? Recently, Gachagua launched a new political outfit, the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) , promising to revamp grassroots leadership and restore community voices. But insiders say the DCP is just another channel for monetization.

Members are reportedly required to pay fees to join and maintain their status in the party. Those interested in being considered for nominations or campaign support are expected to keep the cash flowing—membership fees, event contributions, and now, even photo ops.

Political analysts warn that the DCP could become a political pyramid scheme, preying on the ambitions of youthful leaders eager to enter public service. With no clear ideology, strategy, or leadership structure, the party seems more focused on fundraising than governance. One critic put it bluntly: “This isn’t a political party. It’s a political extortion racket.” Gachagua Turns Wamunyoro Residence into a Cash Cow for 2027 Hopefuls. [Photo: Courtesy] Aspiring Politicians Flock to Gachagua Photo Ops in Desperate Bid for 2027 Spotlight The allure of Gachagua’s political brand still holds weight in parts of Central Kenya, especially among youth who grew up idolizing his fiery tribal rhetoric and defiance against state powers. But as dreams collide with reality, many now realize the cost of proximity to power is higher than expected.

Aspiring MCAs and MPs are reportedly taking loans, liquidating assets, or collecting community donations just to afford a photo with the man who once occupied the second highest office in the land. Social media is already flooded with smiling, posed images of candidates flanking Gachagua—images that, behind the scenes, cost tens of thousands of shillings.

One aspiring leader from Murang’a shared anonymously: “We’re told, ‘If you want to be seen as serious, you must be seen with Riggy G.’ So, we pay. We smile. We post. But in truth, we’re being used.” What’s the End Game for Gachagua? Rigathi Gachagua may no longer be a candidate, but he still holds sway—at least for now. His Wamunyoro base continues to attract heavy political traffic, including meetings with opposition figures like Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, and Eugene Wamalwa.

These high-level consultations are seen by some as attempts to rebrand and reposition himself as a kingmaker. But the money trail tells a different story.

Critics argue that Gachagua’s real interest lies not in rebuilding Central Kenya’s leadership but in rebuilding his personal fortune. If a photo costs Ksh 50,000 today, how much will a DCP nomination cost tomorrow?

With many still recovering from the economic aftershocks of the pandemic and inflation, such blatant monetization of political ambition feels cruel and exploitative. As the 2027 elections approach, the public must ask: Is Gachagua selling hope—or selling out?

The new Meru Governor, Isaac Mutuma, has landed in hot water just weeks after taking office. Lawyer Mugambi Imanyara has threatened to sue him for hiring a county spokesperson for a position that does not exist under Kenyan law. The appointment of 68-year-old Alhaji Mwendia has sparked outrage, with critics accusing Mutuma of ignoring public service rules. Many fear that Meru County is once again heading into chaos. Mutuma’s actions mirror the very misconduct that led to the downfall of his impeached predecessor, Kawira Mwangaza. Barely a month into Isaac Mutuma's leadership, Meru residents are witnessing a chilling repetition of the same lawless behavior that led to the downfall of the last administration. [Photo: Courtesy] New Meru Governor Isaac Mutuma Breaks Rules with Illegal Appointments New Meru Governor Isaac Mutuma wasted no time before stepping into controversy. Lawyer Mugambi Imanyara announced he would sue Mutuma for appointing a county spokesperson, a role the Public Service Commission (PSC) does not recognize. The appointee, Alhaji Mwendia, is not only unlawfully placed but also way past the legal retirement age of 60. Mwendia, now 68, should not hold any public office under Kenyan law. Imanyara issued a stern warning. He promised to report both Mutuma and Mwendia to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) if he spots Mwendia using a county vehicle. "M'ethingia, you and Alhaji will be arrested and dragged to court," the lawyer declared. Imanyara did not stop there. He accused Mutuma of running the county without basic knowledge of public service rules. He revealed that some individuals had already taken control of county resources without formal appointment letters. By ignoring the Public Service Commission Act Section 80, the PSC Rules Number 70, and the Salaries and Remuneration Commission guidelines, Mutuma has opened the door for massive legal trouble. These rules exist to stop political favoritism and protect public money. Former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza also stepped in to warn her successor. She bluntly told Mutuma that he risked criminal charges if he continued down this reckless path. "Bonoko, you will go back to prison where I found you—not as a guard, but as a prisoner," she said. Kawira’s words carry weight. She knows firsthand how political mistakes can destroy a career. New Meru Governor Risks Repeating Meru’s Painful Past Meru County is still healing from the scandal that led to Kawira Mwangaza’s impeachment. Mwangaza fell from power after appointing her family members to government jobs and abusing public office. On March 14, 2024, the High Court upheld the Senate’s ruling to remove her from office. Two days later, Mutuma, her deputy, took over and promised a clean slate for the troubled county. Now, just a month later, the same bad signs are flashing again. Mutuma’s illegal appointments and open defiance of hiring laws show that he has learned nothing from Mwangaza’s downfall. Instead of restoring trust, the new Meru governor has planted fresh seeds of chaos. His actions suggest that Meru residents might be facing yet another long and painful political storm. If Mutuma ignores these early warning signs, he may soon find himself in the same courtroom where Mwangaza’s fate was sealed. The political future of the new Meru governor now hangs in the balance. His next moves will determine whether he steers Meru County towards reform or drags it further into a pit of corruption and lawlessness.

Wajir County Governor Mohamed Abdi

The High Court in Meru on Wednesday reinstated the corrupt Wajir County Governor Abdi Mohamud.

In his argument, the judge said that the county assembly did not provide evidence of public participation in the removal of the Governor.

In 2021, Governor Mohamud was impeached on allegations of gross misconduct, abuse of office and financial impropriety.

The April 2021 decision saw 37 MCAs vote in favour of the impeachment motion while 10 opposed his removal from office.

Despite his reinstatement, the following are some of the corruption allegations against him and others that happen in his county. IFMIS Password The National Treasury blocked and took back the password for the Integrated Financial Management System - IFMIS for Wajir due to high level corruption blamed squarely on Govenor Mohamud.

https://nyakundireport.com/ifmis-password-wars-threaten-wajir-county/ Officials Jailed Three officials of the Wajir County Government were jailed handed four years jail sentence by a magistrate court over corruption.

The three Ahmed Omar, Daud Abdullahi and Jeff Mworia are accused of withdrawing the money from a KCB Bank account in 2018. Wajir County Governor Mohamed Mohamud testified that ‘he did not issue instructions for the withdrawal of Sh26 million and was unaware of a request by the Finance executive for an overdraft facility of the amount at KCB, Wajir”.

Anti-corruption chief magistrate Teresia Murigi ruled the prosecution had proved its case against the three. She said that Omar had the mandate to approve how many signatures were required to withdraw the cheque from imprest.

https://nyakundireport.com/wajir-county-officials-jailed-for-4-years-for-corruption/ Healthcare crisis The healthcare situation in the county is in dire straits; thanks to governor Mohamud's incompetence.

The problem ranges from lack of essential drugs, lab reagents, oxygen to demoralized staff. There is also shortage of PPEs for frontline health workers since national government corona donations are getting exhausted.

Confirming the incident, accomplished city lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi reported that the besieged politician arrived at the scene in a vehicle with fake registration plates and was armed with forged court orders which guards were reluctant to accept. Caption: Former Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud when he invaded county offices on Tuesday Sources on the ground say that despite the swearing-in of his former deputy Ahmed Mukhtar as the county boss, Mohamud has been calling the shots from the sidelines, insisting he is still the bonafide governor of the county.

Mukhtar took over the office following the Senate's decision to uphold Wajir County Assembly's decision to impeach Mohamud. undertaken by the Wajir County Assembly. Power struggles Since his ouster in May, the beleaguered county boss has been embroiled in a power struggle with his former lieutenant.

Following the decision by the Senate, Mohamud moved to court to challenge his unceremonious removal from office. The court granted stay orders which directed that he remains the county chief until the case is heard and determined.

But despite the court order, Mukhtar was still sworn in to oversee the county.

Last month Mohamud made an appearance at the Council of Governor's meeting convened by Embu Governor Martin Wambora in Makueni.

The troubled governor is said to have arrived at the meeting earlier than his rival, occupying the seat reserved for Governor Mukhtar.

Mohamud was impeached on grounds of gross misconduct and misuse of office among other allegations.

His troubles worsened in June after the national government honoured the request by Mukhtar to have the cars assigned to his predecessor withdrawn.

Mohamud then went ahead and acquired the above vehicle with forged "GVN 001" plates.

Migori County is not only looted flat to meet financial obligations, it is also facing serious leadership problems marred with confusion that is executed by a gang of corrupt elements who are frustrating deputy governor Nelson Mwita from taking over at the county helm.

The gang is part of the ring operated by Migori Governor Okoth Obado who has been barred from accessing his office over corruption charges.

The dire situation in Migori needs the residents to push their corrupt MCAs to streamline the operations at the county government to enjoy proper service delivery.

Cartels in Migori are working day and night to frustrate DPG Mwita for fear of being exposed over fraudulent deals they had with the controversial Obado.

The time of the corrupt governor’s return to office is not known but his future looks bright after he made peace with Raila Odinga to neutralize ODM attempts to have him impeached.

Obado has also pocketed majority of the county’s MCAs including the assembly speaker and his deputy.

But residents of Migori have raised complaints about intruders who are interfering with protocols that should have the deputy governor allowed to take over.

A section of county officials allied to Obado are working for the cartels to keep away critics and block people like Mwita for fear of being exposed.

The have frustrated all the efforts to have Obado’s deputy ensure quality service delivery to the people of Migori .

Instead of allowing Mwita to take over, Obado and his allies in collusion with the cartels have resorted to taking hard line stance and incitements to keep Mwita out of the county’s top seat.

Obado took a misguided step and transferred the operations of some departmants to is rural home in Rapogi where he is wasting public funds in running an illegal office.

His oiled allies at the county headquarters are giving progressive leaders sleepless nights with constant threats to shut on massive looting through fraudulent deals. On December 1 Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) sleuths arrested ten corrupt individuals among them senior county assembly officials and contractors over phony deals. Migori County Assembly Speaker Boaz Okoth , his deputy Mathews Chacha together with members of the Assembly's Service Board Roland Asiga, Nicholas Rioba, Clifford Jobando and Mrs Meressa Akello were also arrested.

CAPTION: A FILE photo of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko dancing in his office Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was on Thursday impeached in a controversial manner as 88 out of 122 Nairobi Members of County Assembly voted to kick him out of power over what they termed as abuse of office, gross misconduct and lack of capability to run county affairs.

This was despite him having flown out about 57 MCAs to the coast in an unsuccessful attempt to counter the impeachment motion by Speaker Benson Mutura.

His strategy was to ensure more than a third of the ward representatives were out of Nairobi at the time of the motion, which would have effectively denied the impeachment the two-thirds majority needed for it to pass.

The plan, however, fell apart after Speaker Mutura called for voting to be conducted through a video link so that all MCAs could participate.

Shortly after, MCAs allied to the governor rushed to the Kwale Police Station to report that their accounts on the video link platform had been hacked and that they had been impersonated by rogue Assembly officials.

Contrary claims, however, suggest that some of the MCAs part of the trip to the Coast might have voted virtually and in favour of his ouster by proxy arrangement. Thread of Sonko's most memorable moments... As Sonko now nurses the pains of treacherous UhuRuto politics and joins the list of impeached county heads, Kenyans on social media took it upon themselves to honour Sonko's prematurely ended tenure with some of his most memorable clips.

The Twitter thread was started by popular content creator Brian Mutinda who posted an old video of a seemingly tipsy Sonko chewing on khat LIVE on Facebook which went viral back in 2019 .

In the rather unsettling 1 minute and 44 seconds, the governor could be heard asking some his social media followers to share their details so he could wire to them some cash.

Netizens soon flooded the replies section with their own favourite clips, and up next was an excerpt from his controversial interview on popular talk show JKL last year where Mike Sonko sensationally claimed that he used to smoke bhang with his Kiambu counterpart Ferdinand Waitituback when they were Members of Parliament. "He used to smoke a lot of bhang when he was an MP, I'm a witness to this, we used to go to a certain toilet there... we used to smoke a lot of bhang with this guy... Mike Sonko, Nairobi Governor

Embattled and corrupt Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Kioko alias Sonko has been impeached.

Eighty-eight members of the County Assembly (MCAs) voted to oust the governor who has been facing corruption charges against him.

Only two MCAs, among those who were in the Assembly, voted against the motion.

At least 82 MCAs were required to support the motion for it to achieve the required two-thirds threshold.

Sonko has been impeached on grounds of abuse of office, gross misconduct as well as lack of capability to run county affairs, accusations that he has repeatedly denied.

Mike Sonko who was elected on a Jubilee party ticket in 2017 is not the first to face such a motion. Embu County Govoernor Wambora has faced but won against such moves.

The corrupt Kirinyanga Governor Anne Waiguru also survived thanks to Senate siding with her.

Kiambu second Governor Ferdinand Waititu was successfully removed from office in January 2020. Impersonation The semi-literate governor has cried wolf over impersonation of MCAs emails in the vote that was largely taken virtually. "Numbers don't lie see for yourself.1-57 Niko nao. As we continue with efforts to defeat the impeachment motion at the County Assembly, it’s unfortunate that those behind the scheme to bring me down have resorted to intimidation and dirty tricks to achieve their selfish interests. This morning over 70 Nairobi City County Assembly MCAs have filed a complaint with police on impersonation of their emails by rogue Assembly officials who want to interfere with online voting of the impeachment motion which is set for debate this afternoon", Sonko wrote a few minutes before the impeachment vote was taken. The Governor’s fate now lies in the hands of the Senate.

Controversies surrounding the troubles faced by Nairobi governor Mike Sonko are meant to topple him from the county's top job and replace him with a man from Mt. Kenya.

The calculations to achieve this puts the Nairobi County Assembly speaker Benson Mutura at a vantage position to take over from the troubled Sonko who is facing impeachment.

A kikuyu sitting in a prime position as that of the Nairobi governor is will possibly win the support of their community which will exit power in 2022, after two decades.

President Uhuru Kenyatta rooted for Peter Kenneth in 2017 but the popular Sonko proved unbeatable.

Sonko is allied to the deputy president William Ruto but with Peter Kenneth being out of the scene after his dismal performance in 2017, all the schemes aim at planting Mutura as the governor.

This is because the county does not have a deputy governor who would take over if Sonko was impeached but in the on goings schemes, Speaker Mutura is believed to have nominated Peter Kenneth to be his DG deputy who will eventually take over in 2022.

This plot is not achievable in the ballot because Kikuyu candidates don't attract votes from other communities like a Luo, Luhya or Kamba candidate would.

The former Dagoretti South MP Denis Waweru is also being touted for the top job if Sonko is impeached because he is sycophantic enough, plus he supports the hand shake and the BBI report.

Waweru is BBI's national coordinator, a role he plays with Raila Odinga's errand boy, Mohammed Junet.

The scheme will take advantage of the loopholes in the constitution which will allow the acting governor to name a deputy.

And in a scenario where the battle stretches to the ballot, a Kikuyu candidate will win because ODM people will definitely back and cheer him.

PK is not getting enough support with many arguing that he has lost enough clout after losing in the 2013 presidential race and not going beyond party primaries in 2017. Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Benson Mutura [p/courtesy] But he still stands a chance if handed the position to succeed Uhuru as Mount Kenya political kingpin.

The president Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Richard Ngatia is also having his name infiltrating into Nairobi politcs after Sonko declared war on Ngatia him. Sonko believes that Ngatia is one of the guys the 'deep state' has lined up to succeed him and Ngatia owes it to his network within the county.

MCAs had last week tabled an impeachment motion accusing the governor of corruption and ineptitude

But Sonko has since received a court stopped stopped the impeachment proceedings against him until his case is heard and determined.

The motion tabled by Minority leader Michael Ogada had 86 out of 122 MCAs append their signatures in support of the process to exit Sonko.

Speaker Mutura stands the chance to take over from Sonko who has not appointed his deputy since Polycarp Igathe resigned in January 2018.

The law requires that if both the governor’s and the deputy’s offices are vacant, the speaker acts as governor till elections are held within 60 days.

Mutura is a former Member of Parliament for Makadara but took over from Beatrice Elachi resigned.

He won with 99 votes, beating loud contestants including Ken Ng'ondi, Abdi Ali, Washington Makodingo and  Allan Mang’era after Jubilee and ODM agreed that Raila's party was to take the deputy speaker’s position.

CAPTION: A section of Sonko-allied Members of the Nairobi County Assembly enjoy their favourite drinks moments before causing chaos at City Hall in attempts to evict impeached speaker Beatrice Elachi in September 2018 It was a reprieve for Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, after a court temporarily halted his impeachment.

In the afternoon ruling, Justice Nzioka wa Makau placed a temporary injunction pending the hearing and determination of a suit filed by the county boss to block his outster.

This new development came just a day a after meeting convened by the troubled Governor to strategise against his looming impeachment was violently dispersed, with police lobbing teargas to break up a group of County Assembly members who had convened a press conference after a meeting with their boss, in which they disowned signatures to impeach him.

Now, just under 48 hours to Sonko's D-day, reports are circulating that the flamboyant city politician as circulating reports now claim that he has today flown out up to 30 Nairobi MCAs down to an undisclosed location in the coastal city of Mombasa in an attempt to ensure they miss the proceedings come Thursday.

Murmurs from within the corridors of power further suggest that Sonko has reportedly asked all members of the contingent to switch off their mobile phones in order to to cut out all means of communication from the capital, as well as avoid being tracked down by their detractors.

https://twitter.com/citizentvkenya/status/1333846725933535232?s=20

Whether or not this latest move will bear any positive fruits is bound to be told by time but it clearly amplifies a fact we the governor has made clear over time; that he is ready to employ all the tricks in his book to remain just to defeat those who want him off the top seat.

Those pushing for his impeachment say it is a result of Sonko failing to approve a Sh37.4 billion budget to help the operations undertaken by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS).

The Governor is also accused of abuse of office, gross misconduct as well as the lack of physical and mental capability to run county affairs.

The motion to remove Sonko from office was started by Minority Leader Michael Ogada who tabled the notice of impeachment with a list of 86 MCAs he claimed had appended their signatures to allow the process to start.

In an earlier letter to the Nairobi county assembly speaker, Governor Sonko noted that there is a current court order preventing his removal from office. "By your purporting to process a fresh impeachment motion against Hon. Mike Sonko Mbuvi while these proceedings are pending, you have committed an act of intentional disrespect to these judicial proceedings…which constitutes contempt of court," the letter read in part.

This is the second attempt by the MCAs to impeach the Governor after the first attempt failed in March after the court suspended the proceedings pending hearing and determination of the matter after the Governor challenged the process in court.

Benson Mutura, the new Nairobi County Assembly Speaker

Former Makadara MP Benson Mutura has been elected the Nairobi County Assembly speaker this Friday afternoon following the resignation of Beatrice Elachi as the speaker on Tuesday.

Mr Mutura garnered 99 out of 123 votes from house members.

The election of a new Speaker was done via zoom.

"I hereby declare Mr Benson Mutura the new Nairobi County Assembly Speaker having attained more than the required two-thirds majority votes," acting Speaker John Kamangu said.

Several candidates had expressed their interest in the position, they include, Former Nairobi Assembly County Speaker Allan Chacha Mang’era, Alex Magelo, Abdi Ali Abdi, Odingo Odhiambo Washington, Mike Obonyo Guoro, and Kennedy Okeyo Ng’ondi.

Magelo, however, had dropped out of the race yesterday throwing his weight behind Mutura. Beatrice Elachi, former Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Former Nairobi Assembly speaker Elachi’s three-year tenure at the assembly was been characterised with controversies. She endured a strained relationship with members of the county assembly following a protracted fall out with Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

She was impeached by the assembly in 2018 barely one year after she assumed office.

Before her resignation, Elachi was embroiled in a tug of war with MCAs who were plotting to impeach her yet again.

Her opponents were accusing her of abuse of office, illegal appointment of a new assembly clerk, corruption, poor leadership, victimization of MCAs and assembly staff, impunity, disregard of the law and county orders, and militarisation of the assembly.

On Wednesday this week, Elachi revealed how her opponents had planned her death.

“I thank God I’m alive today… there was sulphuric acid… had I not been saved that day I wouldn’t be speaking to you today. It would have been tossed at me but God that day said it was not my time,” she said.

The former speaker recalled a chilling incident where protestors brandished guns.

“Before you leave, a few people come, they are at the gate of KICC and are carrying a coffin with ‘Rest in Peace NMS’ written on it. They remove their guns and they salute and you wonder are we watching a movie,” she recounted.

Elachi says she was not forced out but rather resigned because MCAs had been paid a lot of money to append signatures for her ouster through an impeachment.

Lobbying to save embattled Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has intensified, split ODM and Raila Odinga’s allies in the party.

In less that 48 hours after Suna East Mp Junet Mohammed (ODM) hinted that the  Raila-led party was lobbying to save Waiguru from being impeached, ODM chairman John Mbadi has refuted the allegations as petty and personal.

Mbadi said that the party had not taken a stand on the matter but he indicated that ODM Senators would make a decision based on evidence adduced by the Kirinyaga MCAs who impeached Waiguru last week.

On monday, details emerged of how politics around Waiguru impeachment caused divisions between Kieleweke and Tangatanga factions who pointed that she has slim chances of survival chances because she has many enemies.

Mbadi who doubles up as the Minority Leader at the National Assembly said it would be hypocritical for ODM to blindly defend Waiguru before looking at the evidence of abuse of office and alleged misappropriation of public funds.

He stated that the March 9, 2018 handshake that Raila had with President Uhuru Kenyatta was also about fighting and ending corruption in kenya. handshake.

“ODM has not taken a position. I have the feeling that senators have the ability to serve justice to the MCAs and the governor. They have the ability to look at the law, the accusations and the evidence by the MCAs before taking a decision. If the MCAs are just playing politics with no strong grounds to impeach the governor, it will come out but it would be hypocritical of us in ODM to say we want to save someone accused of corruption.” said Mbadi. ODM boss Raila Odinga (r), Junet Mohamed (c) and John Mbadi (l) in a past courtesy photo.

Mbadi also trashed politicians advancing the petty narrative that Waiguru was being targeted because of her gender. He listed a number of governors who had been before the Senate after being impeached by their county assemblies on grounds of alleged corrupt dealings including Martin Wambora of Embu, Samboja of Taita Taveta and former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu among others.

On Sunday Junet who is also the Minority Whip at the National Assembly made it clear that ODM would defend Waiguru because the party stand with women as Waiguru who is being bullied according to him.

Yesterday Junet claimed that Mbadi was not privy to the latest discussions in the party as the stand had been taken over the weekend. He even promised to reach out to Mbadi on the same or Raila would personally call Mbadi and 'update' him on the matter.

Mbadi indeed withdrew his initial statement, citing a discussion with the party boss.

Junet said that Waiguru has been a vocal proponent of the Building Bridges Initiative and the orange party can not sit back and watch her get bullied politically because of her gender.

“There are some people out there who do not believe women can lead, but as ODM, we believe in leadership by women and we want to give them equal opportunity. We have witnessed women leading well in the government. They need to be supported,” Junet said.

The developments came as Raila kept dismissing claims of working to save Waiguru, claiming that the Senate was free to work independently.“Senators should carry out the mandate independently. I don’t need to save anyone. Let someone defend themselves based on the facts presented,” said Raila.

Elsewhere, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka also said that his outfit will allow senators to make an independent decision on Waiguru but Senate Minority Whip Mutula Kilonzo Jnr (Wiper) indicated that the party will meet and take a position.

Politicians allied to the Deputy President William Ruto have however said that they will rely on the law to handle Waiguru impeachment. “My compass will be the law. If assembly proves their case against her, I will support the ouster. If they won’t prove it, I will acquit her,” said Senator Aaron Cheruiyot.

The Kericho senator also regretted that the handshake between Uhuru and Raila that was meant to fight corruption as captured in BBI, it was turning out to be a public relations exercise.

FILE PHOTO of impeached Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga during a past encounter Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been forced to come out clean and issue a statement on his alleged night meeting with besieged Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru whom the Nation reports to have helplessly rushed to the ODM Leader last Thursday to seek his support in fending off the impeachment threat in the Senate later this week.

In their Sunday publication, the paper claimed the two met on Thursday evening at an exclusive club in Karen, Nairobi, in efforts to help save her job which currently hangs by a thin thread following a successful impeachment motion by the Kirinyaga County Assembly last week and a failed attempt to block the move in court. ICYMI: No R est For The Wicked: EACC now after Waiguru over Sh50 million tender awarded to governor’s family company The key agenda of the meeting also reportedly attended by a few aides from both sides, wrote the author, was whipping ODM, and other “friendly” senators to defeat the motion.

Quoting an unnamed source, the paper alleged that Waiguru walked in a few minutes to 7 pm accompanied by two aides, then Kiambu Governor James Nyoro and his Nyeri counterpart Mutahi Kahiga joined her before Raila and a few of his trusted MPs arrived for the meeting meant to boost her survival chances.

In his statement, however, Raila has refuted all these claims, insisting that no such meeting with Waiguru nor the other rumored governors took place.

In the post shared across his social media platforms, he has also denied the existence of any investigative Senate committee whose members from his party ODM he instructed to save Waiguru.

https://twitter.com/RailaOdinga/status/1272094607430635523?s=20

According to the Nation, during the meeting, it was revealed that Waiguru had also reached out to her Jubilee Party and influential individuals in government for support this week.

The meeting apparently ended shortly after 9 p.m and also featured a former MCA in Nairobi County, only identified as Mr. Kamau.

The news outlet further noted that Waiguru reportedly told Raila that things were already promising from the Kieleweke wing of Jubilee in the Senate and all she needed was his help with the ODM side. So what next for Waiguru? On Friday, the Senate House Business Committee (SBC) recommended the formation of an 11-member special committee to substantiate the allegations levelled against Anne Waiguru during the impeachment proceedings by Members of the Kirinyaga County Assembly.

Majority Whip Irungu Kangata said the Senate will hold a Special Sitting on Monday to decide procedure on how to hear Waiguru’s case on Tuesday.

The Impeachment Procedure Act stipulates that the Senate must, within 10 days of receiving the Assembly’s resolution from its Speaker, convene and set up a special committee or sit as a committee of the whole House to determine whether or not the claims in the impeachment are substantiated.

Among the documents that were transmitted to the Senate are; the Kirinyaga County Assembly Hansard Report of the proceedings during the impeachment, evidence of the allegations used to support the impeachment motion and the list of the MCAs who voted and the respective charges.

With the committee route already secured, the challenge now is for the Kang’ata team to convince the plenary on Tuesday to affirm the committee’s decision. It is billed to be a tall order.

Mr Kang’ata dismissed as fake a list of 11 senators that has been circulating on social media as the individuals who will sit on the special committee, adding that he is ready to include Tangatanga senators on the team.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado

Migori Governor Zachariah Okoth Obado

Kenyans have over the past few weeks been treated to a spectacle. Though unofficial, the war against corruption has been used to target those that don't support the agenda of the President. In fact, one person has already paid the ultimate price.

Former Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu was impeached for corruption. That doesn't mean that other governors are better off.

Panic has passed over some of them for the above reasons of impeachment and as such apart from Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, another one, who has been accused of taking part in a murder and embezzling County funds is now at risk of losing his seat and that's why he is not sitting pretty.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado is a troubled man

It is said that during the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rally in Kitui, he had fervently sought the audience of Uhuru Kenyatta's new partner in government Raila Odinga so as to cleanse him of his sins. Migori Governor Okoth Obado (Right) with Raila Odinga The Atonement Gov Obado was not alone, few other politicians who have been in trouble in the past have found solace after touching the magic hands of Raila Odinga.

Governor Sonko whose woes were too much and everyone was convinced that he was not going to escape impeachment has over the past few days after meeting Odinga, been able to unshackle some of his burdens. The Asset Recovery Agency (ARA) was immediately ordered to unfreeze his accounts, he was allowed to 'manage' though not publicly some functions of the county, he is even asking to be allowed to go to Abu Dhabi, and it seems like he is on his way to becoming as white as snow.

Same can be said of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru of the NYS theft cases.

ALSO READ: How Governor Okoth Obado And PA killed Sharon, How A Journalist Cheated Death Going back to Gov Obado.

The then mysterious death of Sharon Otieno where Governor Obado’s phone was located at the scene of occurence. This saw him arrested and spend many days at industrial area police station before he was granted a Sh5 million cash bail.

While that was happening, the EACC was on his kneck over theft of county funds meant for development. This culminated in freezing of accounts belonging to him and his proxies.

It was in that period that EACC also learnt that he built his sh100 million home, sent Sh1.9 million to his daughter Susan at the University of Aberdeen in December 2014 through Mr Kwaga, sent another Sh12.2 million to his son Dan Achola Okoth who was then doing his masters in Sydney, Australia in 2016, sent Sh2.2 million to his county secretary, Rusana’s, bank account. The total amount he is accused of embezzling between 2013-2017 is sh2.5 billion.

Obado fears that Sharon's case will haunt him past office and even see him jailed and as such sought Raila’s cleansing powers. What everyone should note is that the Governor was a DP Ruto person and was not supporting BBI. However, now he is forcing himself to support it so as to escape Uhuru Kenyatta's sword that is cutting down all his opponents. Dan Achola Okoth: Son to Okoth Obado

The former teacher is even desperate to have enlisted the services of Uriri Member of National Assembly (MP) Mark Nyamita to lie to the courts that he was with him in Nairobi on the day that Sharon was murdered.

Sources privy with the matter say that the MP was paid handsomely to lie to police.

Gov Obado's were heard boasting that Raila will be paid and that will be the end of their murder and corruption cases.

According to detectives, Obado's phone was at the scene of the murder but Uriri MP wants to say otherwise. Uriri MP is a known crook who swindled money at the Telco Airtel. His constituents report that he has looted Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and invests in buildings.

It even appears that state witnesses were paid to decline to witness in the case. The late Sharon Otieno, may she rest in peace Money Trail The Governor used his kids to hide looted cash in accounts abroad.

They did not invest any of the monies except for a mall near Bee centre, some few apartments in Nairobi's posh areas, landcruizers, large tracks of land in Migori County and a home. 'Gavana ataachiliwa, so unajua ukisifu BBI, hivyo ndio kuenda. Hata hivyo najua kwa ukweli ameshanunua freedom. Kesi aiendi mahali' , said a source close to the governor.

"With money, all your sins however red they are will be cleansed and be white as snow" is a rising philosophy that the corrupt cartels are using to have them let off the hook.

The corrupt and murders coined this phrase immediately President Uhuru Kenyatta switched off his other line cartel used to access him.

In late August, President Uhuru warned senior government officials and businessmen implicated in corruption not to expect help or intervention from him.

The President said people arrested over corruption should not bother calling him when the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji and his Directorate of Criminal Investigations counterpart George Kinoti strike.

“You will just read in the newspapers that someone has been picked up by detectives. It is upon everyone to think over their actions. The culture of calling for help is no more, it will be upon you to defend yourself,” the President said.

Mike Sonko seems now 'acquited' as his accounts are unfrozen, county Workers Union giving him clean bill of health, he has been allowed to fire and appoint officers, his Voi police assault case where Coast Regional Police Commander Rashid Yakub mysteriously withdrew the case days later.

On Obado, because of the huge amounts he is planning to give to Raila and family for cleansing, he has already been assured of the regional leadership as is put in the BBI.

He has instructed his guys to start campaigning towards that.

With Obado people boasting, it seems like he will also soon walk away free; mweupe kama pamba. MORE: Troubled Migori Governor Obado Seeks Raila’s Audience For Cleansing Over His Woes

Elizabeth Lolchoki3

@yobos · Feb 3

Madam boss Elizabeth Lolchoki

Elizabeth Lolchoki is not your average lady, she is the tough County Secretary for County 033, that is Narok County where the Governor is Samule Kuntai ole Tunai.

The 51-year-old governor as stated in earlier articles is not a poor man, but what is shocking is his hands doesn’t tire from ripping off the poor masses of Narok.

In this article, we expose his aide that hides all his loot, Ms Elizabeth Lolchoki.

Elizabeth came from a humble work background as a cashier at KCB Bank group to rise to the powerful position of the county secretary for Narok under Governor Tunai.

First appointed in 2017, she has been in an acting capacity but her power is immense to have the governor listen to what this former banker says without question.

Sources at the county say her word is like law.

‘The Governor trusts this lady with his life’, said a source.

Now Tunai who owns large tracts of land in the county, owns hotels in Maasai Mara, Tanzania and South Africa, where most of the monies are hidden has other ventures here in Kenya that have now come to the limelight of nyakundireport.com.

However, when enough has been hidden in these business ventures, where else does the other monies go?

In an earlier article, the looters of Narok county often construct buildings, and purchase livestock to hide the money stolen from county coffers. November 2018: Ms Elizabeth Lolchoki signs a memorandum of understanding with WWF on the finalisation of the county spatial plan Elizabeth Lolchoki’s work Being a former banker and obviously conversant with anti-money laundering (AML) laws, Ms Lolchoki is a cunning fox to the authorities and an asset to ole Tunai.

She owns apartments in Ngong Town of neighboring Kajiado County on behalf of the Governor. The apartments are registered in her name.

After she left KCB Bank, she worked as a mere officer at Governor Tunai’s office in Nairobi. With a keen eye for details and ambitions to escape poverty, the lady soon found her way into the heart of the governor.

She is so powerful now that it is said that she was the one who had two powerful finance guys demoted from Tunai’s cabinet in late December 2019.

Moreso, there’s one more thing about girl-boy relationship; even if it is for work, they tend to metamorphose into intimate encounters.

Whispers say the power that Ms Lolchoki wields comes from her accepting other watery gifts from the governor.

A divorce lawyer whispered in my years many years ago that once a woman sees your nakedness, then she will rule you. Gov Samuel Tunai at a tourism forum Tunai’s sins in Narok Governor Samuel Ole Tunai is a very rich man yet that doesn’t stop him from dipping his hands on the cookie jar.

In fact the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission’s (EACC) corruption index has spared the county more than once. Though it is among the top 10 in corruption, Narok county can easily play in the big leagues of corruption and dislodge the North Eastern counties and Nairobi.

It is public knowledge, though not popular that the man owns large tracts of land in the Maasai Mara park ecosystem. His land is full of animals too, just like the neighboring national park.

However, what is so curious about the whole thing is that instead of getting satisfied with what he owns, the man has taken to run the whole thing like his family business, where he pockets huge amounts of money and uses it like his personal bank account.

It should not be lost on Kenyans that the world’s famous park is within Narok County is also one of the richest.

A source in Narok informs us that the Mara revenue doesn’t show on the ground.

For a park that charges Ksh10,000 per night as entry fee. Just imagine the number of tourists that come over to the park each month, each year.

“It is a eating frenzy here. In a period of let’s say 3 months, one can walk away Ksh40 Million rich. One doesn’t need to be a highly placed worker. Just in the right position”, our source said.

A person nyakundireport.com spoke to said that most of these workers leave after three months having made millions then invest the money in buildings in and around Narok Town.

The money has even found its way to Nairobi where the former staff of Maasai Mara buy rental flats, invest in hotels and other businesses.

‘The money that is mostly stolen by (Governor) Tunai is spent on building, hotels here in Kenya and South Africa. Some of it is also used to purchase livestock, mostly cows”, the source added.

There are also numerous proxy forms that the governor and his men use to hide the loot.

Governor Tunai has been a DP Ruto person since 2013 up to 2017. But that changed after 2017. Wherever he takes the money to these days might be higher.

“The best lodging in mara is his. Oh, I almost forgot, he also invests in hotels in Tanzania”, the source concludes. Past Samuel Tunai’s deeds In 2013, it was revealed that the Narok Governor Samuel Tunai owned a 2,359.6 acres of land most of which borders the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

Tunai who is rich has also stolen massively from the county. The governor who is on his second term is said to be planning to run as a Member of National Assembly for Kilgoris. A move which a section of residents has vowed to block vehemently due to his underdevelopment and corruption records.

In Tunai’s 2.359.6 acres of land, a small settlement had formed but was burned down in 2003 in the deep of the night. 300 families were left homeless.

In 2015, Governor Tunai refused to declare the total amount it collects from the Masai Mara Game Reserve before the Senate.

At that time, Tunai has given the revenue collection contract irregularly to KAPS — an electronic ticketing firm that offers car parking payment solutions, access control and revenue management systems. This scandal was never successfully prosecuted.

However, though the Governor said that he doesn’t know how much is collected, the firm KAPS have a figure of Ksh1.097 billion in a period of 11 months.

In 2017, ODM Party leader Raila Odinga accused Governor Tunai and DP Ruto of looting Ksh3 billion illegally from the Maasai Mara though a shadowy firm.

Governor Tunai denied the above claims.

Reports indicate that the corrupt Tunai is living in fear as EACC, DCI, DPP are keen on rekindling their investigations. Man of the shadows: Fred Ntekerei (circled) behind US Ambassador Kyle McCarter. Gov Tunai is to the right of the Ambassador His other aide in looting This is a series documenting the corruption of one of the most untouchable governors in Kenya.

Narok County Governor Samuel Ole Tunai’s network of deceit, corruption and money laundering goes deep and in this article, you’ll learn how money moves from one person to the next and ultimately how the monies are shared and concealed in plain sight.

The EACC has been lax in untangling this intricate criminal network in Narok. Even the most celebrated former Auditor General Edward Ouko missed this. But did he?

As stated in an earlier post, Governor Tunai is a very rich man but one who has not hesitated to continue enriching himself using the county coffers.

Governor Tunai’s kickbacks and stolen money is handled by his Chief of Staff Fred Ntekerei. The CEC’s some of whom are his relatives are good at the game of enriching the family. Running the county like a family business where they mostly enrich themselves without care for the Narok citizens.

One Narok resident puts it like this: Narok county CEC’s, CO’s and Directors are just departmental puppets, whose work is just to spearhead programs, prepare and sign governor’s loot. They only rely on a measly Ksh.500,000 monthly department operation fund. They are very broke. Narok County MCA’s will pass any law/Bill just to be Paid by the Governor 20k with a fuel of 5k. One thing is certain, those close to Gov Tunai are rich because they are the only one who matters according to sources. These are Fred Ntekerei, Elizabeth Lolchoki, and the Governor.

After an article on nyakundireport.com revealed how the anti-corruption body is preparing imminent arrests of key people in Narok County government for stealing of funds, the governor has ‘reached out’ to try to cover for his men since he knows that if they are arrested, he will be too.

Going by the recent events where the elected governor for Kiambu Ferdinand Waititu has been successfully impeached, things are hot in Narok.

A source confirms that the Governor and his inner circle are running helter-skelter trying to cover their crimes.

Sources intimate that Mr. Tunai owns more than five Luxury Lodges in the Maasai Mara Ecosystem, which are not listed in the controller of budget reports as paying park entry fees. These luxury lodges charges on the lowest $80 (sh8000) per person per day.

There is also a brewing helicopter hiring scandal that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission is working on with plans to question some officials that are using it as a cash-cow.

Money that is stolen from the county is invested in the construction of new buildings, buying luxury hotels in Tanzania and South Africa, hidden in luxury hotels accounts that the governor owns in the Maasai Mara.

Most of the revenue collected at the Maasai Mara does not show on the ground as it disappears into thin air.

A source stated that many managers at the park only work for a few months and walk away with tens of millions which they invest in purchasing land and livestock. MORE: Pressure Mounts On Accountability Institutions To Arrest Narok Governor

The swearing-in ceremony that was done at a quarter to 1 pm was marked with ululations from supporters of Kiambu's Deputy Governor and former Rockefeller Foundation Boss James Nyoro.

The presiding judge was John Justice John Onyiego in the presence of Kiambu Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi.

Ferdinand Waititu was this week successfully impeached following gross misconduct charges on him. Mr. Waititu yesterday tried to stop the swearing-in ceremony but Justice Weldon Korir declined to grant him that wish. [ad_1] (KDRTV) – Statehouse was not even aware of Tanga Tanga’s plan to save former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu until the hearing of his impeachment started at the Senate on Tuesday. Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen proposed an 11-member committee to determine the fate of Baba Yao. In the list, were six Senators who are believed to be either Tanga Tanga or are friendly to Deputy President William Ruto. The committee was to be chaired by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala and assisted by his Nakuru counterpart Susan Kihika. Apart from Kihika, firebrand Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot and Meru’s Mithika Linturi were also in the committee. READ ALSO:{VIDEO} Poor Waititu Sleeps in Court as He Challenges Impeachment In fact, it is believed that Waititu went to the Senate assured that he wouldn’t be impeached because he had the Tanga Tanga members on his side. His defence team didn’t bother to come with witnesses. However, Murkomen’s plan was scuttled after Senators questioned the membership of the committee. Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata questioned why the Central region had not been represented. “I know of the idea to avoid picking a leader from central to the committee, but I feel at least one senator from the region should have been included in the committee,” Kang’ata argued. Jubilee nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura claimed that the committee members had been selected with the aim of saving Waititu. In the end, the Senators shot down Murkomen’s proposals and opted to discuss Waititu’s impeachment on the floor of the house. [ad_1] (KDRTV) – On Thursday, Daily Nation published a story with a very skewed headline titled: Why Do Kenyans vote for Clowns. In the story, the author claimed that ex Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu represented all that is wrong with Kenyan politics. The author, who quoted heavily from Waititu’s impeachment on Wednesday evening, describe Baba Yao as a stone merchant-turned politician who could easily participate in street fights. A social misfit and loud mouth turned leader. The author claimed that the embattled governor rose to power through his populism but had little or no management skills. Despite the fact that most of his arguments were right, the writer was unnecessarily biased in his reporting, which goes against all the tenets of Journalism. Waititu was impeached shortly after 9 PM on Tuesday, it is unlikely that the article would have been written a few minutes after that for it to be on Thursday paper. This story took time to prepare.
