City Tycoon Francis Kiambi with his wife, Mary Muthoni Mary Muthoni, wife of the late city tycoon Francis Kiambi, has offered a heart-wrenching tribute to her late husband. Kiambi, who died at his Karen home on Monday, January 9, 2023, was laid to rest on Friday, January 20, 2023. At the funeral, Mary shared that when she looks at their four children, she sees parts of him. She promised to nurture them to be responsible and honourable men and women. “Our family is our two sons, Ian and Brian, and our two daughters, Michelle and Jane, and every time I look into their eyes, I see parts of you. They are a testament of the love we shared,” she said. Mary also expressed her undying love for her husband and reminisced about their humble beginnings and ambitions when they met. “Our journey is the many things we are to each other. As I lay you to rest and in this final hour of your journey, I wish you well. May the Lord prepare a perfect resting place for you,” she added. The deceased has been similarly eulogized by other family members. They also released a tribute book titled ‘Life and Times of Francis Kiambi Matanka Kiriiro’ highlighting his simple life and humble beginnings. Kiambi's death was reported at Karen Police Station by his wife who said that they had some differences after they differed on a Sh2 billion loan that the deceased wanted to start a business.
Muthoni said they arrived home at midnight after meeting with the family advocate at a joint within Karen Shopping Center. They were also with a relative.
The couple on that night did not spend in the same room, and each of them slept on their own separately.
The following morning, the wife went to the room where the husband was sleeping to check up on him.
She told the police that she found him lying dead on the bed with some vomit beside the bed.
A post-mortem conducted on his body by Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor revealed that he succumbed to a cardiac arrest.
