Abbas Gullet has refused to hand over the running of the Red Cross to anyone else because it is a cash cow that he has been milking for eons. He is the Atwoli of the 'humanitarian industry'. News of famine and such other catastrophe hitting Kenyans is always music to his ears. That is why his first and most automatic reaction is always to unleash a pay bill on us.
The Red Cross is a private entity which under the veil of Charity, has a blank Cheque to go fleecing Kenyans in much the same way kina Kanyari, Ng'ang'a, Kyuna and such similar con artists do from pulpits. Our national and County government budgets always set aside funds every year for all that stuff that the Red Cross purport to do, and yet whenever disaster hits, it is always the smooth talking Gullet that comes forth to cover for those we pay and fund to take care of these situations.
But that is not all. If you really wish to see the Red Cross for who they really are, just try to inquire about the shady Ambulance deals that they enter into with various County governments. They are used as a conduit to loot County funds by leasing Toyota Landcruiser Ambulances to County governments at a rate which in less than a year, the County would be owning the Ambulances themselves if they went the purchase route rather than the lease route.
It is well within your right to send your money to Gullet's pay bill number in the belief that you are helping to alleviate the situation in Turkana and Baringo, but by doing so, you are not any different from the 'Sheeple' that tithe religiously into kina Kanyari's pockets!
