Lawyer Cliff Ombeta: Despite his top-tier fitness routine and a fairly healthy lifestyle, he still suffered a heart attack to the surprise of many This morning, renowned criminal lawyer Cliff Ombeta shocked social media users after he confirmed he was admitted at the Nairobi Hospital after an "attack".
Taking to his Twitter handle on Saturday, Ombeta revealed that he had suffered from a heart attack which was apparently occasioned by cholesterol.
Attached to the post was a photo of Ombeta bedridden at a high dependency unit (HDU). "Can you believe that? Yes, it is true," Ombeta wrote part of the caption, expressing equal disbelief just as many of the other netizens who found his condition odd, given the lawyer's proclaimed love for working out and keeping fit.

Prior to his illness, the lawyer had shared his weight loss journey where he lost almost 10 kilograms following an intense training program he started in 2020.
Cholesterol is a waxy substance found in the blood. High cholesterol can lead to the development of fatty deposits in the blood vessels which eventually expand and hamper blood flow in the arteries.
The deposits can form a clot that causes a heart attack or stroke.
According to medical reports, high cholesterol can be inherited or emerge as a result of an unhealthy lifestyle. Heart Attacks Despite Low Cholesterol However, an individual person may also have a whole range of other conditions that could raise the risk, despite possessing low amounts of cholesterol. Some of the best-known ones are smoking, diabetes, or high blood pressure.
Other potential contributors include secondhand smoke and air pollution or other genetic and lifestyle factors.
Under his post, Ombeta's friends and followers, among them were former Taita Taveta Women Representative Joyce Lay and lawyer Silas Jakakimba, wished him a quick recovery. "Quick recovery brother. Your line was off when I tried calling you two days ago. Praying for you," his colleague wrote.
