An anonymous whistleblower at the Jubilee Insurance Company Limited has expressed deep concerns over a puzzling contract renewal process that shows signs of discrimination towards certain staffers.
In a shocking revelation that risks harming the firm's reputation, the insider alleges that the company's management is pushing some of its employees whose contracts expired as early as January to keep working for them before signing any renewals; based on the vague promise of a presenting them more satisfactory deals in the 'near future'.
Out of desperation, some workers (like the source in question) agreed to the lopsided arrangement and kept sweating their lives out until they – belatedly – receive better contracts in October, eight months (8) later.

As things stand, they remain uncertain of retention.
The company's representatives, including the Human Resources (HR) Manager, are yet to offer any clear communication regarding the way forward. “Hi Nyakundi, kindly hide my identity. I am an employee of Jubilee Insurance. Having worked for 2 years, my contract expired early this year and no formal contract was given for renewal. However, we managed to work without a contract since January, salaries were paid, and I eventually received the new contract on 12th, October 2022 and new pay was affected. There is also a new group of employees who were recruited in March this year in the same department and no contract was issued to them, but also salaries were paid plus commissions. Since the new contracts were issued on October, 12th, 2022 that is last week, there are some of my colleagues who didn't receive a contract to sign despite having persevered to work with the company despite no proper facilitation nor enough support in order to deliver and meet their targets and were left out without being issued the contract. When they tried following up with their departmental head, they were told contracts were issued based on performance from HR which we are not convinced of since we were not so confident working without a contract and nobody took the work seriously since contract issuance was promised to be issued before the end of every month till October when it was issued. I feel they are not doing justice to them since they were told to keep working, yet they have no contract at hand and are uncertain if they will be paid their salaries at the end of the month because Jubilee has a tendency to indirectly fire you by not remitting salary to your account on end month. I am therefore urging the company HR to act professionally and give formal written feedback to the employees who were not issued a contract and advise if they will get the new pay, old pay or no pay at all and to avoid acting in a casual manner towards employees on contract,” the source writes.
