Several people were injured and property vandalized after violence broke out between supporters of Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika and goons linked to Kuresoi North MP Alfred Mutai during a Youth and Women Empowerment Programme in Nyota Ward, Kuresoi North, on Friday.

The confrontation escalated at Tulwet School after rival groups engaged in running battles, with reports of gunshots, stone throwing and the burning of a welfare bus belonging to Ngata residents, forcing the event to be abruptly halted.

MP Alfred Mutai is now being accused of opening fire during the chaos, with claims that several people sustained critical injuries in the shooting.
