We are still trying to wrap our minds around the supreme arrogance with which our President, H.E Uhuru M. Kenyatta callously announced a fresh round of lockdowns, effectively neutering the 5 most critical counties of the Republic.
Where the ordinary citizens of this country are concerned, the President has exhibited a peculiar dissociative disorder, unable to comprehensively empathize with their plight and seeming to lack the willpower to get up and to get things done on our behalf.
Remarkably, in the run-up to his two Presidential bids in 2002 and 2012, we were warned by the more knowledgeable people, that his own family would not allow him anywhere near the day-to-day running of their business empire, but we, in a burst of religious fervor, somehow rationalized his inadequacies, and called him “God’s chosen”.
The Kenyatta family was happy to stash him away and bump him off on us in the Kenyan Presidency, where all he was apparently good for was to open the doors for his kith and kin to raid our exchequer.
His Deputy, H. E William S. Ruto, a man with the gift of the gab, has been ominously silent in the face of such tribulations upon the ordinary citizens. He has said nary a word of consolation or support to his “Hustler movement” at a time that they need the most reassurance.
We anticipate that he will marshal his legion of vulgar acolytes immediately the situation normalizes, to head back to wooing the now completely impoverished masses, to join his movement of madness.
Truly, this man would rather Kenya burn so that he can become President of the ashes!
The former Prime Minister, H.E. Raila A Odinga, whose ambition surpasses human life, and who does not care how many bodies he must throw into the furnace, just as long as he becomes President.
He would not heed the gravity of the covid-19 situation, and he just had to continue campaigning for this accursed document –BBI.
Now we hear that he has been re-hospitalized after self-isolating for a few weeks after he was found to have been infected with covid-19. While we pray for his speedy recovery, we pray to God that Reggae has finally stopped.
Parliament, headed by the lackluster Hon. Justin B. Muturi has become a house of horrors and a comedy of errors. Just recently, Directors of companies that stole Billions of shillings from the COVID-19 fund or loans, openly laughed in the face of, and ridiculed members of Parliamentary committees, speaking volubly of answered prayers and Damascus-like moments, where angels pointed them to KEMSA to be awarded tenders.
All this drama was carefully choreographed by some of our top lawyers, some of whom will not make it through this pandemic.
Our churches, now unable to countenance another extended period without their precious tithes, collections and political donations, have bared their teeth at the state, with whom they have been in bed for years, happy to milk the very same citizenry.
The country has imported more than 1.25m doses of the COVID-19 vaccine yet 3-weeks later only 90,000 Kenyans have been inoculated despite massive lines at all hospitals. Medical personnel at those hospitals are administering the vaccine on a need-to-know basis or to those who will part with something.
This cartel runs all the way from ‘Mafya House’, didn’t we hear the Health Minister claim that oxygen tanks are now unavailable because individuals stashed them at home? Could this be the precursor to a new procurement scandal?
Government hospitals hardly have ICU beds, and we now have a situation where the few available beds in these hospitals and in private hospitals are handed from one patient to another like athletes pass the baton in a relay, the only difference being that in this cases, the earlier patient has to expire, in order to make room for the next. Social media is awash with this devastation and the emotional toll is incalculable.
Too often we have sat back and allowed the eating class to ride roughshod over us, now they have come for the little we had left.
Our Government allowed free movement of infected people into the country when the clever countries shut down travel, politicians hosted super-spreader events and now the rest of the country has to shut-down completely.
Who then can free us from this depravity, clearly the church is impotent to exorcise this country of such demons.
It is time to stop playing nice with these people, we want our country opened immediately and to hell with their daily briefings of concocted figures.
