Uhuru Kenyatta Calls Jubilee Party Delegates Meeting Ahead of 2027 Elections Jubilee Party has announced a Special National Delegates Convention (NDC) to be held on September 26 in Nairobi. A meeting expected to define the party’s political future ahead of the 2027 elections. Therefore, restructuring its internal organs, and adopting fresh policies and programmes. The forum will also be used to craft strategies for the November 27 by-elections and lay the groundwork for Jubilee’s role in the next general election. Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni has insisted that attendance will be strictly limited to invited delegates and officials. Speaking in a televised interview, Kioni warned party members without formal invitations not to attempt to access the meeting, stressing that entry will only be granted to those officially cleared. The upcoming convention follows Uhuru Kenyatta’s recent return to active leadership after months of legal disputes that had left the party in limbo. His chairing of a virtual NEC meeting earlier this month marked his first major engagement since the High Court, in a ruling delivered in September 2024, reaffirmed his leadership. A subsequent gazette notice in June formally recognized his team as the legitimate officials of the party. During that NEC session, the leadership evaluated Jubilee’s current standing, reviewed ongoing programmes, and outlined steps aimed at reviving its national influence. The September convention is now expected to solidify those plans and position Jubilee for a stronger role in the country’s political landscape as the 2027 race draws closer.
