Earlier this morning pictures circulated online showing a lion that was placed by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko in March 2019 being removed.

The fact of the matter is someone put the lions mane on fire last night. The charred ugly remains necessitated their removal.

Many Kenyans associated the removal of the lions with the handing over of County Government functions to the National Government yesterday, however that's not the case. The lion before being burnt The burnt lion ready for removal below.
