According to sources, Mr Wamukota who is keen to succeed the equally corrupt Fernandes Barasa, is said to own firms that have been given contracts to carry out maintenance of power lines by Ketraco.

The name of the firms Wamukota allegedly owns are JS Engineering and Luanda.
The procurement fraud has meant that Ketraco works are shoddily carried out. No one can question his decisions or the poor workmanship of his two firms.

One of his firms was awarded a tender to reconstruct the recent breakdowns of towers at Longonot.
The other projects he has messed up include 400kV Isinya - Namanga, 220kV and Bura Garden.
Wamukota is also said to have taken by force another contract on 220kv project about to start from Thika to Embu.
