How has Safaricom Managed to control the narrative in the media for almost two decades? We all remember how the media remained Mum on the KPMG Report that exposed procurement scandals within the Telco. Truly, you can't bite the hand that feeds you, but as it always is, social media and the blogosphere are replacing the media in telling the other side of corporates that the media is always bribed in terms of adverts to hide.
The Curious case of the death of Two Safaricom Employees and One Huawei employee on the same day on Feb 12th, 2016 and 13th Feb 2016 Stands out like a sore thumb.
On that fateful day, there was a match between Huawei and Safaricom which went on as Normal. Something Strange Happened- One Safaricom Staffer Lameck Kisienya complained of chest pains after playing the whole game and visited the Safaricom Clinic for a further medical check-up where he was given some medication and alleged to have said he was feeling better.
Lameck Kisienya was a close friend to Stephen Otine who they died together on the same Friday of 12th 2016. They both Collapsed!
Nate Matano who was working for Huawei died on Saturday night, 13th of February 2016. He collapsed and Died.
According to details Cyprian Nyakundi has managed to get, It is alleged that all these guys died of Cardiac arrest. Very strange that three guys could die in just 24 hours with the same condition Caption: Lameck Kisienya's Funeral as shared by a Friend on Facebook. Did he die a natural death? According to some family member of the deceased, all medical reports were withheld by the hospitals involved and the government pathologist claimed that they might have been poisoned.
The government pathologist who did the autopsy on one of the deceased's body said he died, as a result of multiple organ failures due to a blood clot in the brain.
Picture this: Somebody complains of chest pain but dies as a result of brain failure. Isn't it interesting?
After doing our investigations, we also realized the families of the deceased were never informed as all this happened till they died. Aga Khan Hospital, where one of the victims is alleged to have died, refused to produce medical reports.
Despite these three deaths occurring in a span of 24 hours, No Kenyan Media covered the incident or questioned the mysterious circumstances. This shows how the Green-Boy Safaricom can control the narrative and shield Kenyans from the truth.
Everything Safaricom does including coughing gets front page coverage, isn't it eyebrows raising that the mysterious deaths of staff members couldn't get a minor section in the media spaces, could it have been that the initial plan was to keep everything under wrap which then boils down to as to why Safaricom would be unwilling to mourn the mysterious deaths of its staff and especially Kisienya who had scored two goals for Safaricom Against Huawei on the fateful day. The more you view the circumstances around these deaths the nauseous and brain scratching it gets.
Kisienya was an engineer, and in 2015, Safaricom had promoted him to management. Otine worked in the call center, We have learned. Otine and Kisenya were very close friends as earlier Indicated. The other guy worked for Huawei.
Truly, Safaricom MUST explain what happened to these three guys and what they knew ...Safaricom MUST also be probed because there may be many of such cases that have been hidden... In our investigations, we established that neither of the deceased had a history of heart-related ailments raising curiosity as to how they would've both succumbed to cardiac arrest. Isn't it unusual that a triple coincidence occurred for the closely related members of staff to die nearly same time with hours difference under same conditions?
As a conspiracy vector, would it be that these three held high stake information on Safaricom and Huawei that only elimination would've been the way out?
The pattern of deaths can't overrule possibilities of selective elimination as an in-house measure to cap secrets. It is not a secret that Safaricom and Huawei enjoy cordial business relations with both involved in scandalous tender issuance including nationwide CCTV project where it is speculated that Safaricom overcharged the government with 30B while they single sourced Huawei with supplying equipment at 15B yet billing GoK a stable 45B.
Huawei Kenya is not short of scandals either with latest allegations of racism and profiling at the company where Chinese workers are prioritized at the expense of local experts.
The levels of secrecy under which the attack and deaths of these staff members were held leaves more than enough to desire.
Why has Safaricom withheld the medical history and treatment schedule of the workers from the family members, What is being hidden if the deaths were at all natural? Relatives of the deceased needs closure to move on with life, compensation however how much don't necessarily fill the void left, if there's anything Safaricom and Huawei would've done as honest employers then it is giving the families unfiltered truth.
