"Things are chaotic at Radio Africa, its now close to three months with no salary, " one the Star correspondent said.
Correspondents decried that It is discouraging as the company management, particularly editors do not communicate at all over financial woes so that they can decide either on what to do or readjust their lives.
"For some of us who overly rely on the job to foot our monthly bills life has been hectic as landlords are contemplating to lock our houses after knocking the door countless times. I have opted to depot my children back to the rural public primary schools due to incapacity to settle their private academy school fees in town, owing to persistent delay of salaries, " Star correspondent decried.
Correspondents decried over unfair employment contracts and meagre pay not befitting their qualification and experience.
They have urged the top management to consider addressing their plights.
Majority of the Star Journalists who work on the ground are correspondents who earn minimal salaries paid on commission (per story). If no story is written, then no pay is earned despite the fact that the journalist will be on ground struggling to get stories, which, in some cases, the editor opts not to run without an explanation.
