[ad_1] In a suit filed by lawyer Cecil Miller on Thursday, Sonko argued that he is being targeted by Mohamud, who is the Director of Investigations over his stand on the grabbing of land in South C and the irregular acquisition of Integrity Centre/CFM – Sam Wanjohi By CORRESPONDENT , NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 14 – Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has sued the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) singling out one of its officers Abdi Mohamud over what he terms as malicious investigations. In a suit filed by lawyer Cecil Miller on Thursday, Sonko argued that he is being targeted by Mohamud, who is the Director of Investigations over his stand on the grabbing of land in South C and the irregular acquisition of Integrity Centre. He argued that Mohamud, who is the Director of Investigations and his associates, are beneficiaries of the illegal sale of public utility Land Reference Number NAIROBI/BLOCK 103/793 in Mugoya Estate on Muhoho Road and the fraudulent transfer of Integrity Centre where EACC is based. Sonko averred that Mohamud and the EACC “have and continue violating provisions of the Constitution and the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Act by sitting on, eradicating, diluting and/or distorting crucial evidence gathered in the course of investigations so as to skew investigations undertaken to favor their preferred outcomes.” Others listed as respondents in the suit are the Director of Public Prosecutions, Attorney General, Inspector General of Police and the CEO of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority. Sonko said he is apprehensive that if EACC and Mohamud are not temporarily barred from proceeding with the investigations against him pending his petition, they are likely to abuse their offices and mandate by influencing the outcome of the investigations to his detriment.
