There is this lady living in Rongo who was dating one Paul Ollunga, a son to Prof. Mark Ollunga, the immediate former Vice Chancellor of Masinde Muliro University.
They had a civil marriage and even had a son who is about 3 years old.
Sometimes last year, they separated around November; Prof Ollunga family came and took away the young son, promising that he was going to visit for only two weeks in his rural Homa Bay home and then return him back to the mother on his way back to Nairobi.
Three months down the line, they did not return the young boy to his mother, instead, they secretly carried the young boy with them to Nairobi.
Whenever the lady called to ask about the whereabouts of her son, the Professor family threatened her that they are connected to powerful people in the system and would use the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the National Police Service (NPS) to deal with her.
They had even gone ahead to evict the lady from her home in Rongo which she single handedly built without support from Prof. Ollunga family.
Sometimes back when the lady tried accessing the home to get some of her stuff, Professor's son assaulted her with a somali sword. The child in contention
When she went to report the incident to Rongo Police Station, she found out that Professor's wife had beaten her to it; she had called the station and reported that she had wanted to burn down the house with the Professor's son inside
This lady has two other kids from previous relationship and she is now homeless; alone, without even the last born kid who was grabbed from her by Professor Ollunga's family who are more wealthy and can buy justice.
About a month ago, the lady got a reprieve when the children's department ordered the Professor's family to hand over back her young son.
Yesternight, the Professor alongside his wife and son accompanied by more than a dozen rogue policemen stormed the lady's home in Rongo, lobbed teargas into the house in a bid to smoke them out and forcibly carried away the boy.
When the lady went to report the matter at Rongo Police Station, she was arrested and locked up by the same rogue policemen that had stormed her house.
She's currently being held at Rongo Police Station awaiting arraignment in court tomorrow to be charged with causing disturbance and malicious destruction of property.
