In February 2016, audit firm KPMG handed in a confidential report to Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore and Irene Miru -Head of Project Management. At that time, Nobody knew this report was going to open the Pandoras Box, expose Scandals and insider dealings within Kenya's Biggest Telco, Safaricom.
We exclusively leaked the report and made history. Although the Kenyan media has been playing games and not reporting anything pertaining this KPMG Jumbo, Social Media and Blogs have played a huge role in making Kenyans know what transpired.
Despite Bob Collymore's sideshows of reporting to CID after the report was leaked, we played our role by informing Kenyans and generating debate on Corporate Kenya and the private sector that Kenyan's used to believe is corruption free!
In June 2016 Tombleson was reportedly recalled by Vodafone after a 5-year tour of duty, and it can be summarized (despite Bob Collymore’ protestations) that the recall had everything to do with improper conduct with regard to the ONE CAMPUS and other projects.
Tombleson and his friend's intention was to sell Safaricom their own land at an inflated cost of 2.5 times the actual market value, at Garden City Mall. They had rigged the system to ensure that their own companies would get the tender to construct the physical HQs at prices way above market rate. Garden City Mall is right at the heart of the Safaricom ONE CAMPUS scandal, with its developers named as conspirators in the move to inflate the cost of land and rip Safaricom off. The report also exposed the Big Box Procurement Fiasco that detailed how Safaricom Insiders ganged up and rigged the system. A rigged and compromised system.
KPMG was provided with an activation spend analysis for the Financial Year 2013/2014 which indicated that Safaricom spent Kshs. 278,931,482.44 on activations. Safaricom could not locate the spend analysis for the Financial Year 2014/2015 while that for the FY 2015/2016 was yet to be prepared. KPMG also requested for the activation spends for the period under review, but Safaricom could not provide the information at the time they were preparing their report. The worry is that many of the Guys mentioned in the entire report are still at Safaricom. We see them there and wonder what example this institution is sending to the entire world. Sylvia Mulinge, who is linked to Fibre-Space Saga is still at Safaricom. The Safaricom KPMG Saga is a controversy that will never go away. The report is a historical document that anyone can always use to learn how Corporate Fraud executed.
Market analyst say that corruption within Safaricom is likely to undermine its brand and risk creating a disconnect between the firm and its millions of subscribers. The presumption of unethical activity in the company compromises the market confidence needed to compete effectively and remain a market leader.
For instance, the Safaricom One Campus Fraud saga should have attracted the Serious Fraud Office Investigators because we don't expect the Kenyan officials to do anything about Safaricom especially after a petition to Investigate Safaricom was strangely thrown out of Parliament.

Flipping through the KPMG Jumbo, One wonders why Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore and the likes of John Tombleson have not been placed under criminal Investigations by the Kenyan and British officials.
