The plunder going on in Mandera County is mind boggling, An employee going by the name Tony Kamwaro, who was attached to the Governor’s office fled with Ksh10 million in cash a few weeks ago.
The money as reported was part of Ksh100 million with which Governor Ali Roba was to buy a building in the outskirts of Nairobi.
It is said that Tony Kamwaro who was earning a gross pay of Ksh70,000 had been sent with a down payment of Ksh40 million to deliver to the owner of the building but seeing that he was going to be stuck in the rut of poverty, he decided that this was his chance to escape that circle, he opted to handsomely reward himself and quit his job. After ‘escaping’ with the governor’s money, he sent him a text message saying ‘it was time to gift himself’.
Ali Roba received the message with bitterness knowing that he could not possibly go to the police o report such an occurrence. Because, how could he account for the source of the money?
However, the source of money is easy to trace going by the articles on nyakundireport.com and various online source especially social media.
According to other sources, there are other intrigues in the above story. It is rumored that Mr Kamwaro also dipped his nunu into one of the concubines of the Governor when they went to the USA.
The guy is a genius, sex someone’s mpango wa kando then steal Ksh10 million from him.
Nonetheless, it is easy to make up the fact that the Governor is a corrupt person.
In 2018, EACC through their annual corruption report termed Mandera as the county with the highest bribe amount at Ksh35,440.
In their 2019 report, EACC puts Mandera among the top ten counties where one is likely to pay a bribe.

Mr Abdifatah Ogle, a former County Public Service Board Secretary was caught as he attempted to alter a list of recently hired senior staff.
