The mission of the three officers attached to President Kenyatta's security unit was not clear. Uasin Gishu Police Commander Gishu Johnstone Ipara who led the operation into the vocal lawmaker's home, confirmed the presence of the president's security team. Police broke in after hours of waiting, conducted a thorough search but did not find Hon. Sudi. Ipara said there was a deadlock when the occupants of the residence refused to open the gate forcing the DCI officers to break in through the fence of the compound.
