The Police are yet to arrest a police officer captured on Camera taking a bribe, questioning the anti-corruption campaigns that have been going on within the country. Arrest this rogue police officer whose work is only collecting bribes from Garissa motorists along Kismayu road...See his smile towards the end pic.twitter.com/cqsBPavJea — El Presidente' (@AtGuru001) October 26, 2018 In a survey by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Kenya Police topped the list of the most corrupt institution, something the top police officers denied but a recent surge of videos showing officers taking bribes contradicts their denials.
The study conducted in 2017 indicated that most bribes are paid at police stations, county health departments, chiefs' offices, Office of the Registrar of Persons and county commissioners' offices in that order.
The average bribe given out is now Sh7,081, an increase from Sh5,648 recorded in 2015.
Kenyans on social media are still demanding the arrest and prosecution of the officer who is at large and was at his workstation as per yesterday despite being captured on video receiving a bribe.
