Mutindwa footbridge was opened to public in March, 2019.

The bridge however, remains without the critical green shield to cover pedestrians from the elements such as rain and sun.

Many residents have complained about this but Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) is yet to do anything.

Today in the afternoon, the footbridge was abruptly shut off for what seemed like repairs or measurement taking.

Attempts to interview workers on what was being planned were futile.

However, Umoja residents that were around Mutindwa market, who use the footbridge, that were interviewed hoped that the green cover will finally be put.
